  • Some stats and the website

First of all, don’t click unknown links you find on the internet. But if you do, make sure it is myteam.run. So, if there is anyone who likes looking at diagrams and spreadsheets, this website is for you.

I made it after the season ended to prepare myself for our next-year skyrocket campaign. It is basically a set of graphs and tables that compare team performance with the previous season. So far, I have 5 leagues and 3 seasons of history.

I’ve attached two screenshots from it to share.

Picture 1 - is Points by Opposition Position. You can see that we were prolific against last season’s bottom six, taking 36 points from them, and this season we were 12 points short of that. Those 12 points would have given us 61 points and 5th place. Well, even a little improvement would make Europa League qualification comfortable, and I’m not even talking about the Mackems results.
Picture 2 is Goal Margin Distribution (basically how many we drew, won by 1, won by 2, etc.). You can see that there is one outlier in one-goal losses — all the last-minute disasters against Liverpool, Arsenal, Palace, you name it. I do hope that we can turn those into draws and wins.

    Really nice work Marat.

Shows the fine margins and really is sad to see that with a few moments more concentration that the league season would have turned out so much better.

That's the reality of the Premier League.

I just can't put it all on one person, the manager, it's clear that this kind of drop off is a combination of all discussed factors. As a man, I do feel that the players are the ones who should shoulder equal if not more than the fair share of responsibility for it. They are the ones who cross the white line and get paid the big bucks.

Those 12 points less against the bottom 6 teams cost us Champions League - if we had maxed out there that would have put us on 61

Aye - it was the dropped points that we got the season before that killed us.

        Good graphs Marat as well.

          Yeah exactly.

4 wins and the club would have finished 1 point above the bindippers.

The hysteria around the manager is boring at this point.

Have you guys noticed that the Eddie Out Crew are 'One Issue Party' to use political terminology.

The noise from the hardliners is that next season Eddie's gonna get NUFC relegated.

Some seriously supportive fanatics. Lord knows how these types get out of bed in the morning.
