Newcastle United?s preparations for the Arsenal clash have been dealt a blow with both Anthony Gordon and Tino Livramento missing from Tuesday?s training session?the first since Saturday?s 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth

He is currently awaiting a second scan to determine the full extent of the damage. While not expected to be a long-term issue, the best-case scenario would see him return for the final few games of the season.
Both players are expected to be available for England?s World Cup preparations, which commence in early June, according to Craig Hope.

Funny that it was these two that were ignoring Eddie in Palace game.

Gordon is beginning to annoy me - very Owen vibes, injured for us but will be ready for England.

As we've said before on here, he's beginning to believe his own hype.

Prime Tino and Gordon would be a massive miss. On current form, not so much.

You're all right that they are probably off in their own minds already. This season is done anyway, although we will probably have to pick up a few points soon not to get dragged into the relegation battle.

What worries me is replacing these two players and others if and when they leave. If they're not playing with their hearts in it, they can of course f*ck off, but will we bring in enough players with the quality we need to advance?

Honestly, I don't see how we're going to get on the other side of the transfer window with a better team than what we've got. Or at least I haven't seen any indications that we will, or indeed what the plan is.

If we lose Gordon then I think that we can blame the fans...there negativity towards him as a young player has probably meant that he wants out. I cannot blame him and it will be our loss. We are far too fickle as fans and turn too quickly on players.

I'm not completely sure that is fair personally.

I think it is a variety of things - not just fans.

We tried to sell him last year when desperate and I think that got in his head, then we turned on him a bit, then everyone started praising him and blowing smoke up his arse so he's started believing his own hype.

However, I do think you have a point about fickle fans. . . equally, every club is like that. Can't think of one that isn't.

One more thing on Gordon - he was one of the few (if not the only one) who made a social media post about Isak's departure, speaking highly of him and wishing him well.

If there was a rumoured split in the camp, then he was probably on the other side of it. So he might have the same resentment towards management over broken promises (whether personal or the NUFC project itself, whatever) and that's affecting his performance.

I agree with you Zipps, BOTH have been heavilly tapped up by those two KUNTS, Man City and Liverpool, so let's hope we don't buckle by selling them both cheap! The club is now a massive mess, and I can't help but think Eddie has exhausted his tickets here, and believe he will be shown the door by the owners! There's no sugar coating this season, we are languishing just above the relegation zone, and with this current form, we'd be a candidate for relegation if there were close to 10 matches left !!!!!

Aye, Andy, I think the only thing that will-probably-save us is the number of games remaining and the fact that Spurs and West Ham would both have to win three games while we don't get another point.

That being said, the way we're playing, I could genuinely see us not getting another point.
