  • the frustration at being a fan of this club

I feel so frustrated and deflated lately. Really wish the season was over.

I don't ever remember feeling this crap even when the fat controller had us, suppose

we all knew back then that the season was going to be a struggle from the first game but because we

have had some success and great games in the last 4 years, its more of a kick in the balls because

we have so much expectation of playing well and having a go every week.

In all honesty, we have been going backwards for the last 18 months, last season from August to December

the football was crap but we were picking up points, then Eddie finally gave in and moved

Tonali to the 6 role and the performances improved, we went on a 10 game winning run

we won a cup then it nosedived again.

This season it has been awful from day 1, i have spent the entire season thinking, Eddie will

turn it around, we will no doubt go on another winning run, the clubs above us are only a few points away,

champions league is still a target.

I'm still ****ing waiting for Eddie to figure it out but its looking more like a manager clutching at straws and

out of ideas. Playing Nick in midfield, Gordon as a striker ffsnot changing the tactics, the same old subs.

Even last week, taking Hall off and putting a dire Tino at left back.

The football has been shocking, What the hell did he say at half time against Barcelona,

in fact what is he saying at half time all season, we completely cave in after the half time break.

25 points dropped from winning positions and still 5 games to drop more.

Rumours that Eddie has lost the dressing room and the staff are not seeing eye to eye too.

PIF need to take their share of the blame too, they have had people running the show who quite

frankly are not up to the task. Silverstone robbed a living, the CEO was a chancer and they all

wanted to be seen when the going was good but went into hiding when our fortunes were difficult.

PIF have been naive imo, the PL will eat you alive if your not on your game, last summer we had

nobody in charge, no CES, no sporting director, it was left up to Howe and it has turned out to be

a disaster. Other then Thiaw, non of the transfers have been roaring success. This summer we need

to bring in about 8-10 players and im not convinced Eddie should have a say in any of them.

I dont thin PIF have lost interest, although i am worried they might get fed up if they back Eddie again,

go big in the summer and nothing changes next season.

Anyhoo, sorry for bltching on, just sick as ****

Its been a hugely disappointing season in which we never seemed to get going. The Judas episode seemed to set it all off and then, I agree, a pathetic window with no pre-work or plan where we scrambled around to get someone (anyone?) to play up front. The insistence on PL proven players made us wait (and pay) for Wissa was crazy. With Eddies reputation as a manager who improves players it seems a no brainer to go for rough diamonds from abroad - I dont get it.

We have some very good players and we need to buy some more. Its then down to Eddie to start getting the best out of them. Hope springs eternal.

Can't disagree with either of you.

I'd quite like season over as well.

I honestly think next season, if Eddie is still here, with no European games he'll do really well again.

I also think we need to rid the squad of those who have set themselves apart, so we can have a united squad again.

Umm whilst also agree with what's been said, I do not agree that Eddie has proved to be our long term man. With no euro games any manager should do well with this squad. We want a manager than can see beyond that narrow focus. He has had 5 years or so and we are going backwards. I want to see a club that puts its ambition before it's manager and a manager that puts the club before his preferred style if it is not working. I realise this sounds pessimistic, but these string of results without any euro games have been atrocious.

Agree. He won't leave and he definitely won't be sacked this late in the season. Would still want him to leave on good terms and it not end nasty but I think he's been stubborn and not played best 11. We're at risk of relegation.

I think he's a good manager. I think he's also an intelligent guy.
I hope trhat he's still here next season.
I hope that he will have had time to reflect upon what went wrong. I hope that he will realise that being inflexible was part of the problem.
I hope, as I always have, that he can re-instate the sort of manager that Fergie or Wenger were.

Manager in charge, long term. Not prima-donna players.

I hope. But I'm not at all sure......

Hopefully after the PIF has ditched LIV and boxing etc. they will concentrate more on their holdings in us, maybe now we will hear more about stadium, training ground etc.
