Sounds like it could be serious for Saints.

They are reporting that the play off final may be suspended till the investigation is done.

With no precedents set, everything is on the table.

People are arguing that a fine isn't right becasue if Saints win they have untold riches of prem to use.

I personally think, if they kick Saints out then they should just promote Hull. . . Regardless of situation Boro lost, the bit the saints bloke filmed won't have been ever tactic they could possibly use.

However, I get this is a money maker for a lot of people so they would never do the above.

It has to be a sporting sanction since the spying was to give them a sporting advantage.

It was a totally unnecessary transgression, they have a whole season on Boro on tape to watch.

Kick them out the play offs, Boro get a by into the final to play Hull.

Southampton cannot be allowed to be promoted as any other punishment is just a gentle stroke on to wrist, followed by a little kiss to make it better.

Boro were the team disadvantaged by this, and are the victims of the crime, so should pass through to play Hull at Wembley at Southampton?s expense.

Well EFL went harshest penalties they could.

Saints kicked out of play off final and given a 4 point deduction for start of next season.

I honestly didn't expect it - I'm glad as it sets the precedent for spying but didn't expect it.

Saints also admitted to spying on Oxford and Ipswich training sessions, and Charlton gave evidence to say that Saints had prior knowledge of their formation change between games before they played saints.
