  • Osula

His development over the second half of this season makes me think we may have a player on our hands.

Still raw, aye, but improving with gametime and he's shown he has some impressive facets to his game. I think he may have a high ceiling if we can continue to develop him.

Being honest. I would have snapped Frankfurt's hand off for the 30 mil they were offering but now I'm glad we didn't.

Still a work in progress but that progress is definitely there.

    Thoughts?

Agreed, I've been wrong about him so far.

I still remain slightly sceptical - I think his movement is predictable and that he looks too slow generally, but who gives a shyte about that if he's banging them goals in. If Eddie thinks Osula can do the job with Woltemade in a 10. position behind him, I'm up for that.

With a pacy third striker to shake things up - not Wissa.

I haven’t written off Wissa yet, he showed enough at Brentford to know there is a player in there, and think unless we get a good offer and can line up a replacement then a full pre-season and a season of no European football (and the extra training all the players would get) could see him come on leaps and bounds… and to a lesser extent also Elanga.

BUT… I reckon Barnes has all the attributes to play either as a 9 or a 10… so if Wissa were to go then I’d love to see both Osula and Barnes sharing the load up front… Barnes is cool in front of goals and does his best work in and just around the box (imo) so think it’s at least an option.

Ian, I completely accept that we will not get our money back for Elanga and Wissa and with nothing to focus on but the league - and a few domestic cups - next season, I agree that we might be better off keeping them. If they have a half-decent season, we can either keep or sell them and recoup some of the money originally invested.

This is a gamble, however. Especially with Elanga IMO.

Agreed Zip - I had written off and would have taken Frankfurt offer.

          Now glad we didn't.

I think their is a player in there to, I think that like Gordon, Big Joe and others we are seeing the impact of Eddie on him, just taken longer due to less training time and then playing time for him.

Despite what Eddie said, we need a new first choice striker. I?d go for Delap.
