What a stupid idiot he is. How is it possible to be this stupid?

He wants us to turn against him, so that he can use that... feckin rat.

You just have to ignore idiots like that.

Hope we get a decent striker in to replace Wilson, and turn down every offer we get. I would be happy to ruin a couple of windows just to wreck hes career.

It stinks to high heaven of his agent realising that his last massive commission isn't about to happen.

Edit: Another thought - does he and his agent not realise who they are dealing with? Doing this to PIF and them backing down . . . would be a huge loss of face for them.

This surely makes it more likely they double down on his he's not leaving.

The promise was a new contract and Paul Mitchell said he didn?t need one because he had 3 years left. I?d say that?s true but he?s making a bigger deal out of it to force a move after Liverpool tapped him up.

I hope the club stand firm I don?t care if he doesn?t play. Loan him out to the Saudi league

Shown himself up. Glad the club are putting their foot down. I expect he'll hand in a transfer request next. What a soap opera!

                  Club statement

"We are disappointed to have been alerted to a social media post by Alexander Isak this evening. We are clear in response that Alex remains under contract and that no commitment has ever been made by a club official that Alex can leave Newcastle United this summer.

"We want to keep our best players, but we also understand players have their own wishes and we listen to their views. As explained to Alex and his representatives, we must always take into consideration the best interests of Newcastle United, the team and our supporters in all decisions and we have been clear that the conditions of a sale this summer have not transpired. We do not foresee those conditions being met.

"This is a proud football club with proud traditions and we strive to retain our family feel. Alex remains part of our family and will be welcomed back when he is ready to rejoin his teammates."

Finally we have statements from both sides not just reports and media narrative.

The way I see it is that if promises have been broken, Mitchell, the guy who did so has now left - problem solved

We were in the midst of a trophy winning, champions league qualifying season, maybe contract talks were stalled so as not to distract

Isak had his head turned by Liverpool tapping up and his form clearly dropped to the point he was obviously not giving 100% on the pitch anymore

He never deserved a new contract based on those performances.

If he puts in a transfer request that at least makes everything clear for everyone.

But as he seems to be quite money orientated, I don't think he will.

I don't even think he put this out - It'll be his agent directed by LiVARpool.

If he doesn't put in a transfer request, and Liverpool or any other club do not match our valuation of the player, isn't Isak then required to go back into training? As he already should be, of course.

The way I see it, Isak stays and is reintegrated into the team. Whether or not we like it.

As I said all along. The player is going nowhere. From the very start I said that the chairman's word can not be broken, He can not be seen to be wrong. It is an impossibility in terms of perception.

The word from my guys in Saudi at the start of the window was clear and they, the senior government level people don't change their mind. The world bends around them to make sure they are always right.

Mitchell's cause all this. I have no doubt that had the player been given a new contract when it was agreed with him, making him the highest paid player in the clubs history on 225k, 250k he's have been happy and motivated to carry on without issue.

It's clear that from everything that this is absolutely about money and nothing else.

Sad state of affairs... I wonder how big this fine is gonna be?

City fined Tevez 10m quid when he tried to force a move to the filth.

we'll have to wait and see.

Well played by the club. Gave him rope to hang himself.

Word is that Salah is insulted that Isak's been upstaged and overlooked by the news of Isak. Another great conflict for the bindips.

Masterful Power Play by the river drinkers.

When you think back to the, maybe, last third of the season, and our conversations about his less-than-stellar performances-lacklustre would be putting it kindly-and we were all saying he was tired or carrying an injury.

Turns out he just wasn't trying.

That's because he isn't, never was, and never will be a committed player, Never shows enthusiasm or excitement.

You just watch, if he does go to PiddlePool, Salah will still be top dog and top earner for the next two seasons at least.

That's a long time for the pet lip to hang out.
