  • Are there any positives at all

    ...to this season?

    Genuinely.

Could spend all day listing the negatives but is there anything we can take out of that shitshow going forward? At the minute, I honestly can't think of one.

Maybe Osu;la showing a bit of potential? I mean, is that it??

Answers on a postc...no, wait...on the stamp of the postcard.

Well, Osula developing is a positive alright. But even then, I have huge caveats - if things had gone better this season then I very much doubt that he would have started many games. I certainly never expected him to become our preferred striker by the season's close.

Otherwise, I'm struggling. I guess that, considering the shambles that the latter part of the season became, then not having any European football at all next year is a sort of positive ( in a negative sort of way... ). At least it gives us a chance to take a huge reset. And boy, do we need it.
Hopefully, having a more solid management structure in place will be a positive factor in implementing that reset. We need action right at the start of hte transfer window to refresh the squad, both in terms of personnel and also mindset. And no daft fvcking around with transfers like the Isak debacle.

But I can't say I'm really feeling very positive at this point in time!

No positives at all, even a youngster breaking through and playing first team now and again would of done. But we have regressed hugely. We have went ina couple of seasons, from starting games fast and keeping on pressure. To looking like a team that has never played together. Conceding sloppy late goals costing too many points.

Sadly no - I can't think of any proper positives that can be said

Yes, there were positives. We made the semi-final in our bid to defend the Carabao Cup. We reached the last 16 of the Champions League and competed well for 135 minutes of the 180 against an established powerhouse of a club in Barcelona (who are now paying big money for one of our players).

The season ended poorly and there are more negatives than positives, more questions than answers, but there were some positives along the way.

              Completely agree with this post.

I think this season's gone awry for a number of reasons including the manager's lack of ability to turn things around, but it's also being overstated how poor it was.

The last six months or so have generally been terrible and a wake-up call, and the performances do call for changes all-round, but we haven't been as poor all season as some may suggest. Though criticism is certainly justified.

Trippier knowing it was time to move on 🤷🏻*♂️

Fantastic for us, a leader without the arm band - which he gave up - always what was best for the team.

Would have hated for him to stay a season too long and do a Salah 🤣
