  • Gordon to Barcalona

Reports tonight we?ve reached a deal with Barcalona. Wow what a move for him, how did he pull that one off? Good luck to him

Yep, fantastic move for him and I'm happy for him.

Sad to see him go but we'll miss the player he could be rather than the player we saw recently.

Mind, out of the 70 mil, we need to give 15 percent to Everton so not quite the deal it may seem initially.

15% of the profit we made.

We paid 40m with up to 5m in add on?s.

If we paid off the full 5, that?s 3.75m we pay Everton

          Good move for him.

Good move for us - denies him to a prem opponent.

Also good becuase it gets a big sale done early and gets a potential bad apple out.

Bad apple in sense he'd checked out mentally a while ago.

Absolutely. Whatever we need to do, whoever we need to sell and sign, we defititely need to do it early

I?ll be a bit harsher here, I don?t mind: I?m very effin? pleased to see the back of him.

Don?t get me wrong, I wanted him to be our star player and I really like his playing style, but

                A) He?s acted like a buffoon at least twice now and let his performances get affected which in turn has been a big part of us not getting results. I don?t have time for players who have ?checked out mentally? for half a season - have some respect for your employer, lad.

He?s overhyped as a player. Massively. I wish he wasn?t so we could squeeze even more out of a deal, but it?s true - he has very little to show for warranting a Barca move, but once again the world of football surprises me. I don?t really get why they?re going after him with this price tag, but I guess most players with a bit of pace will fare well in a team of superstars and a less physical league. Like Raphinha.

I was a big supporter of Gordon to begin with. I feel let down by him.

Unlike the Isak sale, Gordon leaving is something we?ve seen coming and a player who can be replaced quite easily if we?ve done our homework better than last year...

I wish him well but can?t seem him succeeding at an elite club with his technical deficiencies. I hope he proves me wrong.

Good luck to him - surprised he got that move after the season he had with us, but I suppose it was his champions league goals that got him noticed.

Anyways, as much as it?s good to business early, he is one that I think we could have got more for after the World Cup as I?m sure his performances for England will surpass what we saw from him at Newcastle.

On another note - Rashford anyone 🤔

Rashford is on 350,000 a week. Even at 26-30m quid at his age, he's just value for money. It's an interesting idea but doesn't make sense.

The club would be wise to sign Osimhen on ?250k a week makes more sense to me.

He's passed his medical and agreed a 5 year deal according to sources in Spain.

                          Solid business all round.

Player was checked out over a season ago.

A Team I-suk muppet downed who tool and decide to just ingratiate himself, sacrificing the club that turn him from problem child at Everton to a player Barcelona would see worthy of a 5 yr contract.

I don't see any real affection for the lad. Clearly have an impact for the first 18 months at the club, last season and this he's been mediocre at best. No commitment or dedication when the team needed a spark, a true talent to step up to fill the void left by I-suk.

He didn't do that because he isn't capable to doing that. As a 'False 9' he was a dud. Scored ZERO Premier League goals in the middle.

Didn't want to play right, thought he was too good for that.

I appreciate the fist stint I do not appreciate the last 18 months. Waste of a shirt.

                            Regarding the money.

The full value will be booked on the accounts for SCR year 25/26. The deal will go through Monday 15th of June.
The 25/26 SCR window closes 30th of June 2026.

The deal was struct on NUFC's pricing terms as the board & PiF gave a payment structure that suited Barca's financial restrictions.

From an NUFC Point of view, the actual cash money payments are inconsequential. What is important is the accounting value booked.

                            I-suk & Gordon have been booked year 25/26 = 200m quid.

                            That's the bottom line.

Regarding the nonsense about a 'stepping stone club'.

Liverpool sold Suarez against their will as the player wanted Barcelona. The bin dippers also HAD to sell Courtinho. The Mersey reds are as much as stepping stone club as we are.

The reality is that there are only 2 clubs in modern football who can dictate when players come and go from their rosters.

Those are Real Madrid & Barcelona.

Newcastle United fans need to calm down. Seriously, it's pretty embarrassing seeing the whining fallout from grown men online.

This is modern football, it's a business, after the toxic abuse of the I-suk departure, even the most emotionally invested partisan fan has to accept that there is no loyalty in the game anymore, the players own the fans nothing.

When the club executes the sell it's own prodigal son Elliot Anderson over the Scouse import shows there is no such reciprocation of loyalty.

In 15-20 yrs time NUFC will be a more regular UCL competitor, potentially even having won the competition of multiple occasions, however, the reality is that at that period in the future players will still look at Real Madrid and Barcelona with envious eyes.

That's just the reality of football.

David Beckham, to English fans is seen as a Real Madrid Legend. To Real Madrid fans Beckham is a footnote. He doesn't enter the conversation of top 50-100 players. He, like McManaman is a no body.

Gordon, will likewise not register in the pantheon of Catalunya legends.

If the lad bangs in hattricks home & away in El Classico, winning the games single-handedly. Score the goals that win Barca Champions League year in year out for the next 3-5 seasons. Then he may well get an honourable mention in 10 years time when Barca fan youtube channels do they're 'top 50' lists.

Great for the lad to go to a legendry club, a footnote for the club.

Newcastle United have done excellent business here and this is a model that the club should work by for the next 5-10 yrs whilst the CEO and commercial teams pull their finger out and raise the revenue income streams to a much more competitive level.
