Aye, if he went to a Champions League club, I wouldn't like it but I could understand it.
All the facts and stats about fine margins and 'if we'd won this game' or 'if we'd held out in that game' or 'if we'd converted just a few of these chances'...none of it matters compared with our finishing league position and our awful style of play and tactics for most of the season. Yes, Tonali was part of that and shares some of the blame in that respect, but we know what he is capable of...and so does he...and he knows what he's capable of in a really good team.
It doesn't help that we've started off the Summer by repeating last year's mistake of selling one of our best players before replacing him.
The optics are bad and, whilst folk might say optics don't matter, they do...because the players will see it too and may either think twice about coming or twice about staying.

It is just me or on Sandro the media muppets and shills like Romano talk about him as an elite player, almost mock the fact that he's a Newcastle United player, yet quote prices of B tier level, decent Premier League Level CMF?
They need to make their minds up.
The market dictates that Sandro as an Italian international and one of Italian football biggest stars is clearly on a par with Anderson?
City, apparently are interested signing both for 200m quid. How? If Forest turned down 125m for Elliot, there is zero change they sign Sandro for 75m quid. To sign both it's gonna cost them 250+ million Great British Pounds.
With regard to a transfer to Spurs.

Covers my thoughts quite accurately.
I think we're all pretty much agreed here, Spurs are NOT a 'step up' from NUFC.
A City or Real sure, Spurs, no. If he goes there by choice the lads a bigger loser than we first thought with all the gambling nonsense.
Elite players don't leave a club like Newcastle United for a club like Tottenham Hotspurs. Any player that does, is not elite.
That being said. During Bruno's injury period back end of the season, Sandro did WOW me. The time for him to shine, stand up and be counted as 'THE MAN' just didn't manifest.
Give me 100m + 15m in add-ons, flog Joe Willock for 15-20m go get Lamine Camara & Victor Froholdt for a combined 90+ add-ons we've upgraded the depth of the squad and boosted the first team with elite potential killers.
