  • VAR - Super League - Rambling

Some thoughts from last night and a bit of a ramble.

One thing is clear, the sheer bias on VAR towards the cartel 6, it is something that Howard Webb needs to get on top of, yet even if he's trying it's not working.

I think the problem is that it's now so obvious to the domestic audience that they are turning away from the blatent favouritism of the favoured few. However, the "product" is now being marketed at the international audience rather than domestic. This audience only wants to see the cartel 6 do well as they are who they support via Fifa and constant media support.

The prem wants this audience happy for the money and as such VAR falls into supporting this.

Meaning a bigger and bigger disconnect from the domestic fan, this will then allow them to sneak through the games abroad and you'll see certain teams, such Manure v VARpool in LA etc. Basically becoming a super league in all but name.

I'm sure this has already occurred to many here but felt like noting down my ramblings.

    Good ramble, Jammy.

VAR, like PSR, might have started with honourable intentions but is now just another tool for the cartel.
