  • Interesting in Press Conference

For the first time all summer Eddie didn't say he wants Isak reintegrated into the squad. When he was pushed at the end of press conf he said "he's contracted to us, so yes he can play again in a Newcastle shirt".

Very different on the emtional front compared to others, now we have a striker almost in the need maybe isn't as high and Isak can see we're not completely chasing after him.

Eddie's very good at being diplomatic. Talking about Isak and his behaviour, Eddie said that he knows his preference from a footballing perspective (i.e. he would want him back) but then added "You can't be oblivious to things that have happened."

"You can't be oblivious to things that have happened."

That's about as close as he could get to saying 'fuck him, he's been a twat. '

I thought the same - helped by a couple of other replies he made. Very subtle but a clear shift.

I think he's gone too, regardless of the business we do. Take the 130 or whatever it is and get him outt he door. No PSR issues for the next half decade.

Yeah absolutely. He's is completely in the wrong and the entire episode is unacceptable behaviour.

However, contracts have stipulations for these kinds of situations.

The player has 3 yrs, The bin dips don't value him as the Club does, so they won't make an offer that makes sense.

Woltemade is not the replacement, he is a complimentary player to the No.9.

With Brentford and Wolves holding firm those players will remain at their clubs this window.

              Isak will remain on Tyneside.

Let's see how serious he is about not playing when he's getting 2x weekly salary fines for each match missed.

              140k / week x 2 = 280k x 2 = 560k / week fine (based on a two match week)

560 fine - 140 salary = 320k quid a week the player will have to pay the club.

How long do you think the player can afford to pay the club over 300k before he is bankrupt?

              130m quid doesn't cut it. Real Sociedad are owed 15% of a sale - 19.5m of 130m

              Isak Current Amortised value 63m / 5 = 12.6m / year * 3 yrs = 37.8m depreciation

Isak's current value to the club is 25.2m quid.

              130 - 19.5 - 25.2 = a total of 85.3m quid.

That is not enough for the abuse, insults, disrespect and not to mention the clubs trust, faith and all the staffs hard work to develop this shmuck from a 7 goal a season no one in mid-table La Liga mediocrity it's a 20+ goal a season prem and world star.

              15% of a sale @ 150m = 22.5 - Real Sociedad would receive 22.5m quid

His depreciation remains the same - 37.8m

              150 - 22.5 - 37.8 = 89.7m

              It still isn't enough.

It doesn't break the PSR shackles which restrict the club and what price are the club going to have to pay to find a player who is going to score that many goals in the prem?

Correct me if I'm wrong guys, you've all known more on here to be open to being corrected when I'm talking absolute BS.

The club should be clearing 100m quid clear book profit to make that deal make sense.

Or you think I'm being unreasonable?

Mind, I'd be annoyed (to put it mildly) if he was still getting paid despite being on strike.

You don't get paid when you're on strike, is my understanding?
