Good news! He was just getting his feet under the table. He always wins something in his 2nd season.Originally posted by ex_pat_magpie View PostJust got Spuds to the Champions League and Levy has just given him the boot.
Levy is a don, I love this guy. Got rid of Mourinho on the cusp of a final, binned M-Ange just as he's won something. Brilliant to see the chairman's formular for financial success.
Keep the club destabilised and ensure he and the board can keep racking in the share dividends.
One more rival in a rebuild without deep pockets as they're not a big spending club with huge debts from their Stadium build.
They're going after Glasner at Crystal Palace or Areola from Bournemouth, possibly Thomas Frank.
After the Mourinho, Conte - worldie route, Spurs have accepted they're a mid-table also ran. Subsequently they're targeting a manager of that Ilk.
The new man, whoever it is, won't get much of a budget looked at Levy's MO. He'll be expected to compete in the UCL which none of the 3 candidates have experience with, whilst competing to maintain a European birth via a solid league campaign.
That kind of step up is more than likely beyond the likes of Glasner or Frank, however Areola looks like he might have the chops to be a decent manager with the ability to level up.
Not fussed by the Lilly Whites. They're nickname is apt. They are cowards. This one trophy will be their last for another 30 yrs.

Its no surprise Ange has gone. Spurs shouldve been nowhere near winning a cup this season, theyve been abysmal.

Early betting is looking like Thomas Frank will be the new manager.
If so it's the end of an era for Brentford. Losing Bummo and the manager in the same summer, with the potential outgoing of Wissa as well could see them struggle next season.
I'd take Wissa TBF. Reminds me of Papis Cisse without in the insane goals, but, a good goal scorer knows where the onion bag is.

That's a really good question, man.Originally posted by Guybrush View PostI?ll ask the question then.
Would we accept the season they just had?
17th, a European trophy and champions league qualification?
Old regime? I'd say yes. I used to say I'd take relegation if a cup win came too and I meant it. I'd never seen us win a cup but I'd seen a few relegations.
Postegoglu saying they had an outstanding season based on a cup win was absolute bollocks, though. 17th in the league is atrocious regardless of anything else.

Slugman said "I'll leave when we win something". So Relegation and a pot would have expeditated his exit. Fortunately we managed to oust the fat pr!ck and here we are.Originally posted by Zippity View PostThat's a really good question, man.

Spurs have to be realistic of who they are. The fact is Levy gave the big time a shot with all the Bale money and Pochettino. He blew the final and like any surging wave, it broke and rolled back.Originally posted by Zippity View PostPostegoglu saying they had an outstanding season based on a cup win was absolute bollocks, though. 17th in the league is atrocious regardless of anything else.
We had it in the 1990s, no long term strategy. Levy needed that UCL win Pochettino blew it so the couldn't sustain. Leeds, Blackburn the same. Portsmouth to a lesser extent.
The Lilly livered North London coward's development was built on sand whilst Chelsea had bought the planet and City were going big on Yaya, Silva, Aguero etc.
Levy has figured out the sweetest formula. Bring in a manager, he has a bad run, Fans turn on them and blame them, end up hating them, He sacks them. Creams off the dividends for Bahamas Joe and himself.
Wipe it down and start again.
They don't pay 'Big 6' wages, They don't pay 'Big 6' transfer fees, they sell to the top clubs at top dollar. Fat slug Cashley was SD Sports poundland, Levy and the cowards are Ocado/Waitrose. Same principle just higher prices for the same mediocre products.
Spurs haven't had a player since Berbatov & Bale that i've actually wanted to NUFC to sign.
