Thinking about transfers and how it can possibly be improved for the good of the game, players and clubs!
My ramblings, likely a load of b0110cks 😆
Transfer window opens and it is the usual free for all
But
A 30 man (over 21) squad to be named for all competitions
Teams to name a provisional 25 man league squad 1 week before the start of the season
If selected in league squad player can not move clubs
If not selected
Eligible for a transfer
Eligible for a loan move
Under 25s (no fee involved)
Over 25s (fee at club discretion)
Under 21s remain under contract but can move on loan to another league at any stage of the season
If not selected in league squad for 2 consecutive seasons
Over 25s other clubs can sign player by buying out the remainder of their contract (value of basic wage)
I?m sure Chelsea would find a way to ruin it for everyone but
This protects the players and the clubs
Clubs
Know their squad before season starts.
Stops inflated prices for players with no chance of playing for their current club.
Players suck it up for a season and play for their move rather than sulk for it.
Should mean clubs think sensibly about transfers. Not bloating their squad.
Clubs know the availability of players not registered
Players
Allows development of younger players
Under 21s can go get game time anytime. Moving around if a club needs to cover an injury
Under 25s can go out on a free loan ensuring they do not stagnate (attitude permitting)
Stops teams essentially stockpiling players and treating them as commodities rather than professionals
Means if a club buys a player and ?bombs? them out of the squad, said player has an opportunity to move rather than have their career cut short by a club asking way over the odds.
