  • Trippier should we keep Him

Trippier will be a free agent on June 30 next Year able to talk to other clubs this winter
I would say thanks very much for coming and definitely helping us but it?s time to get one final money move
Unfortunately he is getting slow and his free kicks and corners are not very good to say the least but on the positive side He is a good influence on the rest of the team and he and Bruno?s respect to Lascelles in the cup final was magnificent

I think, for what he gives in terms of experience and leadership off the pitch, Eddie will keep him for that extra year.

I agree his set piece delivery isn't what it was although the Cup Final one wasn't too bad.

They reckon he's a great dressing room booster, his experience alone is enough to keep hold. I guess it's really up to him if he thinks he is fit enough to compete on on the pitch. Personally I think it's time Tino took over then the talk is what do you do on the other side with Burn and Hall. If Trips is willing I'd keep him on the bench for another season.

For everything he offers in leadership yes. However, depending on the physical decline by the end of the season maybe not.

When he arrived he was still nippy, powerful and had a spring to his jump. Back end of last season and so far this season, we've seen that he's been caught under the ball on several occasions which have lead to major defensive weaknesses.

Yes as a back-up to Tino next season on a 1 yr extension if that would be acceptable to him.

I think he?s earned the choice to do what is best for him.

Yeah, he might be able to get 1 year with us. But if he can get his one last big pay deal, for a 2 year contract does he take it, but likely drop down in the level he?s playing against. He has shown he is willing to go abroad.

For me, I?m not nervous when I see his name on the team sheet.

Personally I would like home to stay and get another left back in for next season, with the RB the season after.

But as much as we are solid in defence, Trippier, Burn and Schar are not get any younger 😬

I think he'll be offered a contract extension.

Whether he takes it or not, I don't know as said he may want to try a big pay-day abroad if he can get it.

He def offers us a lot in leadership but I think he'll/if hasn't already drop behind Tino.

As other said, I don't worry when his name is on the team sheet.

I completely get where you're coming from, but I think one of Eddie's (very few) blind spots is his loyalty to players that aren't contributing on the pitch.

For example, I realize the 'sweetness' and the good touch in keeping Lascelles and playing him (purely) as a gesture, and I acknowledge that he is a positive influence in the dressing room, but we have plenty of influential players in the dressing room now that are competing week in week out to be in the team. Lascelles is nowhere near the team and nowhere near good enough to play for a top Premier League side. He is deservedly well-respected and well-liked among supporters, including myself, but he is effectively taking up a place in the squad which should not be his.

With Tripps, it's slightly different and I think that he can still give a class performance on his day - and I think he would be gold to have as a coach in the future - but by the end of this season, if we mean serious business, we bring in a player for right-back that can challenge Tino in every aspect of the game so we have two, stabil (non-injury prone) players competing and improving constantly.

If EH thinks he has something to offer happy to keep for another year

Also happy if we got a few bob and he got a final payday elsewhere if he so wished. Maybe in Saudi.

We have to be cold though, if EH thinks he is done as a player then we dont offer a new deal out of sentiment.

Maybe he would like a coaching role. Dunno.

Agreed, I'd like to see , eventually both Tripps and Big Dan with both their coaching badges bringing on the youngsters.

Both would command respect in those positions.

We HAVE to keep Trippier now.

We wont see Tino again this season, by the look of things.

I’d rather have him to stay for another year.
Especially if it would be Europa or Conference league next season
Either way, I dont want him to go for free.
Contract extension and 3-4 mln move to SA - these money could be make or break difference for our next transfer

10m for him with 1 month to go on his contract - that is the going rate for a RB isn?t it?

I hope we keep him at the club in some capacity, great role model for both young and established players.
