Don't really know what to make of this.

Aye - not sure about this either.

I can see the advantages of it but equally, can see it being very abused.

      Ha ha...it'll be hilarious.

Loads of managers are absolutely nuts. Arteta would lose his two appeals within the first 5 minutes.

I'd be happy to see the back of VAR for good.

I think it works pretty well in cricket. Not perfect, but what is?
The original idea was for it was to allow a review to overturn an obvious error. Naturally, it isn't just used for that - captains use it tactically as well. But it does mean that there aren't constant interruptions, and you don't get a lengthy break every time a wicket falls.

I guess some sort of review system is pretty much a done deal in football. I agree with you, Zip, that VAR is a total pain in the bum that would be better scrapped, to bring back the immediacy. I seriously hate celebrating a goal and then thinking "Oh sh!t, but it may be ruled out in a couple of minutes". I don't see them abandoning it now, though, and I think this idea might be a better bet. Also, could be amusing, as you say!

          Fair hadn't thought of that

Although I think 5 minutes is generous. Be more like 2.
