He had a great game against us. Then git a really bad injury.Originally posted by PhoneymcRingRing View PostBrighton want to sell Evan Ferguson 20 years old loads of potential I?m surprised we are not linked with him. I think we should sing him they saying could be sold for 25m
Last season he was at West Ham and was anonymous. Barely got a game. Either the injury has ruined him or his head is gone.
From the performance against us, if Eddie thought there was a player there I'm sure we'd have already been in for him.
Could be wrong but there is something odd about that one.

smorgz how you doing man?Originally posted by smorgan86 View PostWent from being touted as the next big academy player from Brighton - on his way to being worth 100 million. To a bad loan season at West Ham and almost worthless. I'd love to see what Howe could do with him.
I'd go further and say the hyper around that lad was more like the 2nd coming of St. Patrick.
He's faded into absolute obscurity. I didn't know he'd gone to West Ham and didn't notice at all. Did he even start a match for them?
After Antonio's really unfortunate accident you'd think the lad would have been a stalwart.
It all depends on whether his physical attributes are intact or that injury has damaged him.
However, as I said early. If Eddie had been interested in him no doubt he'd have moved for the lad already. His age profile and everything is a perfect fit to slot in behind Isak replacing Wilson.
It not happening just sends out alarm bells.

A diamond in the rough or a blow out? If we did go for him, Eddie?s decided it?s the former!

I don't really know what happened with him but he couldn't displace an absolutely awful Fulkrug so it can't be good.
Still think we need to look at a younger profile for a backup striker.

The money that NUFC allocated for the Joao Pedro transfer is still ready to spend.
The offer for Ekitike will have gone out, for all the money, no doubt, as that is the way we have worked on all transfers in so far, to Frankfurt and as it's front loaded Frankfurt will be at the table. I guess there will be now some back and forth on add-ons and payment structure to get closer to the 85m quid from the 65m quid we offered for Joao Pedro.
That's going on now I guess. The player will have made positive noises about joining Eddie at Newcastle as we've always stayed in touch and been a huge admirer of Hugo. Also, on the track record Hugo will see Newcastle, now he's a few years older as a great opportunity after maturing in Germany. Hopefully all parties can work towards a deal that suits everyone and we can bring him in and have 2 of the world very best young ambition strikers competing and complimenting each other.
Mouth-watering prospect and a massive coup, a real statement of intent should the club manage to pull that one off!
