It's a problem with the site quote facility. I just had to correct my post.

The site quote facility works fine, these misquotes happen when someone accidentally deletes the square bracket at the end of the quoted passage. The misquoting then continues until someone fixes it like you did.

Swale can go back and sort things, but he'll have his work cut out on this thread!

I would have thought the ‘jack boot’s brigade’ reluctance to get involved in international conflicts would be welcomed by people who generally can’t go 2 minutes without talking about the War/Churchill/Blitz.
