Bet you another £50 Drillo that Boris comes out of all this with general approval. Let's be fair, Corbyn and Abbott were both creatures from the Black Lagoon and anyone except dolts and retarded idiots would agree. In fact if cartoons were still in vogue, Disney would have portrayed them alongside the likes of Goofy and Daisy Duck.

'An' not 'a' actual crisis! O.K.?

During the brexit debate one poster/remainer was so upset and blamed the older generation, he actually said I hope they get a virulent strain of flu.
I hope he is happy now, nice guy. So there are plenty of 'nice' people on both sides of the argument.

Can you prove that? If not it's probably just your bias again.

Everyone believes what they want to believe and there is no objective truth. No sources are impartial and so none of them can be believed. Apart from mine. You should be objective like me.

          (Easy isn't it?)

What do you mean can I prove that? I don't have to I read it for myself and I couldn't care less whether you believe it or not, I know it was true.

I'm not saying you did or didn't make it up. I'm just popping in to a thread without really engaging with the topic or making a case for what I think, just pointing out that there is no objective truth and everyone is biased. Apart from me.

Can do the wink emoji as well if that helps.

Looks like one of the biggest right-wingers on the board also thinks you're a right winger. Evidently your bias is visible to everyone!

To be honest I think it was a dreadful post and totally out of place as we celebrate VE Day.

Agreed, I think that there was an obvious right and wrong in WW2 and thankfully the right side came out on top. I will happily celebrate the valiant efforts of those who made it happen and made our futures much better. I won't talk about 'winners and losers' however, because the human lives lost on both sides meant that everyone was a loser in real terms.

                    • People hold different views on stuff, like real life. I’d say it’s about 50/50 between bullsh!tters and sensible people like me.

There were only a couple of posters whose views I found particularly objectionable, but they don’t seem to post on here anymore. Thank f00k.

Out of interest, how would you measure "general approval"? I'm interested in taking your £50 bet if you specify the conditions.

I'm sure our resident pebble crushing machine salesman is far more qualified than I am to make judgement on this, but my completely uninformed knowledge of big business deals suggests only two options:

                          1. The equipment they supplied did not meet the specifications on the order so we are entitled to a full refund.
                          2. They supplied the specification on the order but somebody in government f@cked up big time, so we are entitled to no compensation.

I really hope it's option 1, but we'll have to wait and see.

The bet's been offered to Driller. I trust him and he trusts me and if we go ahead, I'm sure we'll quickly agree a way to work the conditions out so nothing get's complicated. Possibly something like the result of a national poll or the average consensus of more than one. The important thing being we both agree and stick by it, which I know Driller will.

On your other query. I've no idea who did the procurement order for the PPE that became a problem. I assume the Government (any Government) will have their own 'buying arm' of civil servants all with their own individual political views. There are far more conditions of purchase attached to this particular order I would suggest than you mentioned, as from memory, these people follow protocol to the letter and are very professional.

                              • Opinion polls carried out up to this Wednesday by YouGov, and a couple of other less well known pollsters, show support for the Tories at around 50.5%.

You could have the ultimate paradox of low Corona Virus credibility with continuing confidence in other areas. Its all very confusing, and my supply of Gin is running low
