Hilarious to see him having a rummage around in his dressing up box and find his farmers outfit. Im surprised he didnt put the accent on as well. Did he say who he would tax instead of the massed ranks of landowning millionaires?Originally posted by SwalePie View PostDid anyone see Nigel Farage cosplaying as a farmer outside the gates of Downing Street the other day? Comical.
Reform ltd is an outfit that primarily exists to try to protect wealth imo. The xenophobia/jingoism/racism is a front to attract the more gullible to the cause. (Though the leaders probably agree with a lot of that, its not their primary concern).

But when you successfully campaign to put yourself in a historically weak negotiating position by promising unrealistic outcomes, you shouldn't be surprised, or blame those who then can't deliver what you promised.Originally posted by forwardmagpie View PostI know it?s difficult to understand that campaigning for something and then that not being implemented well by other people are separate issues.

I think we may disagree on that.Originally posted by Kent Magpie View PostBut when you successfully campaign to put yourself in a historically weak negotiating position by promising unrealistic outcomes, you shouldn't be surprised, or blame those who then can't deliver what you promised.

Yes it would indeed be lost on me, quite rightly. I tend just slightly left of centre these days and therefore don't have difficulty in understanding the opinions of others on both sides, except for those at the extreme ends of the scale. I must, however, mention that your understanding of the word temerity may be slightly off but I suppose it would be.Originally posted by Med Pie View PostI know that and the fact that the left have the temerity, to complain about the intolerance of others is clearly lost on you but I suppose it would be.
ETA: Presumably you being so temerous as to claim that they are temerous (and that it is a fact) is not based solely on your political persuasion?

Brexit means cheap food imports, says Farage (in 2016... before implementation).Originally posted by forwardmagpie View PostI know it?s difficult to understand that campaigning for something and then that not being implemented well by other people are separate issues.

Hmmmm. I keep reading others on here saying that Brexit would have been great if it had been implemented properly. It was obvious at the time of the vote that Boris and his cronies would be the ones implementing it. It was also obvious that they were clueless. They didn?t think they would win, and had no credible plan in place when they did. If you think that Farage would have done a better job, we will have to respectfully disagree.Originally posted by forwardmagpie View PostI know it?s difficult to understand that campaigning for something and then that not being implemented well by other people are separate issues.

A lot of obvious in the above Elite.Originally posted by Elite_Pie View PostHmmmm. I keep reading others on here saying that Brexit would have been great if it had been implemented properly. I don?t think Mr Farage should have been involved in the post Brexit negotiations.
Mr Cameron didn?t have a plan as it appears he felt if leaked it could affect the voting . This was a dereliction of duty and a disgrace.
I think that the Government (May, Johnson and Sunkak) and the Civil Service could and should have a much better job than they did.
This has left us with a lot of the downsides of Brexit without enough of the benefits. This needs sorting but I am not sure who would be the best person to sort it but my belief is that Mr Starmer is not that man. In the words of Angela Rayner he couldn?t run a bath. I am not sure that Mr Farage is the best person either or Ms Badenock.
So while I am a Brexit supporter (mainly due to my dislike of the EU parliament) I am unsure how we can resolve the issues it has created.

Some fair points, but I would reply to your last sentence. The issues can?t be resolved because despite the obvious issues with the EU, it was still in our best interests overall to remain.Originally posted by forwardmagpie View PostA lot of obvious in the above Elite.

I believe the EU is a useless and corrupt organisation that is doomed to failure. I voted to remain in a common market in 1975 which was a great idea. If we could go back to the common market without the political union it would still have my vote.Originally posted by Elite_Pie View PostSome fair points, but I would reply to your last sentence. I voted remain but do agree that the EU has major issues, just thought there was a better chance of improving things from inside the EU rather than outside. I my opinion there were and probably still are far too many unelected EU officials in Brussels with a massive Federalistic agenda and it is this combined with the immigration issues that have driven the rise in far right parties. I think that many who vote for them are not truely far right themselves, they just have no one else to vote for who seems to offer any serious solutions that address their concerns.Originally posted by forwardmagpie View PostI believe the EU is a useless and corrupt organisation that is doomed to failure. I can?t disagree with your view of a Federalistic EU agenda Bule and your views on the reasons for the increase in the European votes for far right parties. We probably only disagree whether in the long term we will be better inside or outside the EU. I hope for our country I am right but I am not yet convinced and it maybe you were right.Originally posted by bule1 View PostI voted remain but do agree that the EU has major issues, just thought there was a better chance of improving things from inside the EU rather than outside.
