If you think for one minute Lardy I'm gonna open up a link to one of those their left-wing websites, then think again. Getting back to number 2 of Elite's list when he asked others for our opinion. Well, Corbyn and the Momentum party would have been a complete disaster if they had been in power, they wouldn't even be able to agree on what color coffee mugs they should drink from. Funnily enough, the Jewish community might have benefited from the lockdown, Corbyn would have closed the Synagogues long before then.

That subject presents a pretty graphic illustration of why this government is so f@cking useless. I've just read that the Heathrow airport boss is taking action while the government are still sitting on their arse and doing next to nothing:Originally posted by i961pie View PostHow many Italian,Chinese,Indian, Pa-istani, Bangladeshi, Afro Carribean etc. etc. live in Ireland compared to Britain?
These people travel back and forth to their country of origin creating a large risk, but the vast majority are British citizens so they are entitled.
Mind you it is criminal that when we new of the problem they weren't tested or isolated.
The boss of Heathrow Airport has told MPs that it is trialling large-scale temperature checks as the aviation industry struggles with coronavirus. He said they are already being carried out at departure gates on people going to places where this is a requirement.
So he quite rightly suggests that we do our bit to stop us spreading the virus elsewhere, but we are doing nothing at all to stop foreign travellers bringing it in! How difficult is it to do a simple temperature check on arrivals from places deemed risky?
Obviously far too difficult for the bunch of incompetent ***** we have in charge.

Watching BBC news earlier and they did a piece on barbers breaking the lockdown by phoning them up and pretending to book an appointment. None of them came across to me as having English as their first language. I think I'll be hearing from Lardy or Elite soon.Originally posted by i961pie View PostHow many Italian,Chinese,Indian, Pa-istani, Bangladeshi, Afro Carribean etc. etc. live in Ireland compared to Britain?

ps. They were charging double the going rate. There's no way I would pay £4 for a haircut.

Kin ell Pugwash the thread is on Twitter, and the author comes pretty much from the centre ground.Originally posted by navypie View PostIf you think for one minute Lardy I'm gonna open up a link to one of those their left-wing websites, then think again. To be fair if you’re still banging on about the parallel universe where Corbyn is prime minister you could do with reading up a bit.

Complete and utter irrelevant bollox. Nobody know whether Corbyn (who has gone by the way) would have made the right decisions or the wrong decisions. He didn't get the chance, but Boris & Co certainly did and it's looking increasingly likely that they f@cked up big time.Originally posted by navypie View PostGetting back to number 2 of Elite's list when he asked others for our opinion. To get back the the thread title (and Banjo seems to have gone AWOL) does anyone honestly think that the leadership has been impressive?

Getting back from just having a number 2. If Corbyn had been in charge he'd had ordered the boss of Heathrow to wave those from Pakistan through. Well, he wouldn't wanna upset his mates.Originally posted by Elite_Pie View PostThat subject presents a pretty graphic illustration of why this government is so f@cking useless. Even though he is no longer directly involved, it's amazing how many people on here still mention Corbyn and what he might have done.Originally posted by BigFatPie View PostTo be fair if you’re still banging on about the parallel universe where Corbyn is prime minister you could do with reading up a bit.
He's gone ffs, so concentrate on the bloke in charge and comment on what he has (or hasn't) done.

There's been so many poor unfortunate souls taken before their time throughout this dreadful epidemic that almost any sitting Gov, throughout the world is an easy target, if you choose to make them so. Bet there's a few sitting on the opposition benches in our Parl breathing a sigh of relief that they're not in charge, I know I am.

Ironically, just as you posted that I was typing a post saying that it's amazing how many people (I really meant arseholes) are basing their judgement on what Corbyn would or wouldn't have done if he was in charge.Originally posted by navypie View PostGetting back from just having a number 2. Thank you for proving me right within a minute!

I'm sure you're right, this isn't a good time to be in charge.Originally posted by countygump View PostThere's been so many poor unfortunate souls taken before their time throughout this dreadful epidemic that almost any sitting Gov, throughout the world is an easy target, if you choose to make them so. But if you are in charge, you have to be judged on the decisions you take. Make your own mind up on that one.

I agree with everything you say, but none the less I am sure many many are glad it wasnt Corbyn handling this.Originally posted by Mapperleypie View PostIn fairness QP you have to hold the government of the day to account for their actions, not some theoretical government with imagined outcomes.
This government has failed miserably with COVID-19 and way more people in this country have died than ever needed to with adequate planning - especially given the head-start we had.
There is no leadership to be impressed with or otherwise, it's just a series of measures to pass-the-buck and distract the public as the death toll rises.
