'We need to embrace new data and technologies''
after that comes ''but the most important thing is not to forget the football essence. The fans can expect a team which is not going to wait or be reactive, we will be proactive, we are going to go and try and be as competitive as we can in every single game"
Easier said than done as we know, but at least their starting point is very competitive in tier 2, so the approach has a good chance

Possibly but Wilder is a very good bet in the championship his record shows that.Originally posted by the_anticlough View PostInteresting. Even after a narrow play-off final loss, they make a shift to a Head Coach structure. And the first thing Selles says is...

Selles has done nothing as a manager and he is going to be under huge pressure.

I don't think the headline is Wilder v Selles. It's that the Blades have chosen a very different way to run a football club - the same one we have.Originally posted by legs77 View PostPossibly but Wilder is a very good bet in the championship his record shows that.

That is correct but put another way if I was a Sheff Utd fan I know which one i'd want in the dugout.Originally posted by the_anticlough View PostI don't think the headline is Wilder v Selles. It's that the Blades have chosen a very different way to run a football club - the same one we have.

Yeah, they might have to take a step back to start going forwards again. It's very hard on Wilder for sure.Originally posted by legs77 View PostThat is correct but put another way if I was a Sheff Utd fan I know which one i'd want in the dugout.
But there'll be no going back to the old model - the data technology won't be dis-evented, and before too long the US sports model of a 'front office' doing everything apart from the actual coaching & team selection will be adopted right across the EFL. We'll have been ahead of the curve, that's all.
I think we'll be soon looking back at the era when ex-players/current Head Coaches were the main decision-makers on recruitment and spending someone else's money (often on people they know, or their mates know) and say wow, was that really how it was done?Last edited by the_anticlough; 21-06-2025, 08:15 AM.

Try registering with a slightly different username and new password. Once that's setup and you're in, I'm sure Skan as admin, can delete your old profile and then change your username to BanjoPie if needed.Originally posted by BanjoPie View PostI registered but now can’t log in as it keeps saying I have the wrong password - “I have the correct password” so will stay here on me tod!!
I think the final nail is in the coffin for this place and 99% have made the switch now.

Well worth a shot for them.Originally posted by WarsopPie View PostProbably be a revaluation now 😂
Not every young player can start his pro career scoring goals and making key contributions. We saw too much of the other side though and nobody was clamouring for him to be signed.
He's going to have a good career, but it might take a few years to take off.You can definitely see him scoring at Meadow Lane next season
