  • By no means saying I would want him, but if he had not been here before then Hewitt is the kind of player everyone would be wanting us to sign tbh.

      Agreed.
Hewitt did very well at stags.
He was there player of the season the year before they got promoted.

Did well at Grimsby before that too. Pretty sure he has been playing as a centre back for a few years now, which he never did with us really.

        • Didn't Hewitt get absolutely roasted by clough in a match interview to the extent it was embarrassing by what clough did that day?

Yes I think it was after a game against Grimsby and he accused him of being nice to his previous team mates or something along those lines.

Clough has named and roasted players in his interviews a few times.

              • The problem with Hewitt is, he can play on the right of a back three, but Ness and Macari are better so what's the point?

Amen to that. Hewitt coming back would be a desperate move IMO. Also all of the players on Gump's list are no better than what we have just released. Baffling moves -if true.

                  • Not sure if this has already been mentioned, but Jordan Gabriel (linked with us in the first post of this thread) has signed for Port Vale.

Port Vale sign wing-back Jordan Gabriel on a two-year deal following the end of his contract with Blackpool this summer.

                    • The Matthew Dennis from Carlisle transfer is picking up pace.

Would suit us apparently, quite quick, has played in similar systems... and is often injured.

We've just released a player, in the same mould

Nothing vaguely similar about their careers
