That should give the more gifted players a greater freedom to express themselves . Training sessions may be a bit flat though
Frank was also an excellent middle order batsman for Lancashire & Engand

Williamson has been largely under the radar (pun intended) in recent discussions on here which is no surprise mainly due to his time Carlisle. 5 wins in 25 games (20% win ratio) is not good. I did think when we played Carlisle at home he had them set up playing a similar style to us and we did only manage to beat them 1-0.

His stock will be much lower now than it was a year ago. He got MK Dons to the play-off semi finals last year but it could be argued SM has just done the same with us.

Williamson does have a 47% win ratio in 221 games at both Gateshead and MK Dons. Compare this to SM who's win ratio in 220 games is 33% for Wealdstone and Notts.

      • If Mike Williamson was the most viable alternative, I would much prefer a return for Luke Williams.

Is Macca coming back on loan?

          • Williamson and the Gateshead manager who resigned a couple of days ago as assistant? They've worked together before.

No the Gateshead manager who resides has joined South Shields as assistant manager.
              Be a mistake appointing Williamson

That seems a weird situation? Going from manager to assistant of a smaller, lower down club?

It does doesn't it. Maybe he was sacked and the club kindly called it a 'resignation' to save face for Magnay. Gateshead didn't have a terrible season though.

Surely Williamson isn't a serious consideration?

Definitely would feel like the most Reedtz-esque appointment.

Agreed would be the one I'd put money on if I had to.

519 (over 440 for Worthing) at an average of 1.68 points games as a manager. Equates to 77 points per 46 game season.

                              1.91 goals score per game
                              1.49 conceded

Obviously highlight being the 96 point season with York just gone.

                              • Priske and Hinshelwood both at 7/4 now. Someone must have put 50p on Brian.

Luke Williams in to 4/1 now...
