Richardson - Not totally convinced but he did fairly well at Wigan and it was really harsh on him when he was sacked there.Originally posted by marky View PostEvatt - A winner and he would clearly be a poular experienced appointment.
Buckingham - Would be great but I doubt we'll get him
Hinshelwood - I fear he's a one season wonder, I can actually see him being sacked at York early next season if he doesn't hit the ground running.
Williams - Been here before, popular, knows a fair few of the players
Priske - Would certainly be interesting if nothing else.
Wilshere - Don't really want to be known as "Jack Wilshere's Notts County".
Williamson - Wanted him here a couple of years ago but not convinced now, think he's gone backwards.
Alves - May as well have just stuck with Maynard if he's in serious contention.
At Rotherham he took over when they were already adrift but he had no real impact and their squad was woefully inept at Championship level.
I thought he managed Accrington at some point as well.

Bit of an article on the man here and his time at Wigan:Originally posted by SwalePie View PostTrue. If he's the one let's get behind him and see what he can do.

Apart from Rotherham, his record doesn't seem too bad. Still has a 35% win rate even after a poor spell there.Originally posted by marky View PostRichardson - Not totally convinced but he did fairly well at Wigan and it was really harsh on him when he was sacked there.

That was my point really, I don?t think we?ll go for him anyway if he?s overly direct, I think Priske is never going to happen, LW in my opinion would be done by now if he was so keen to come back and we wanted him.Originally posted by SwalePie View PostHis record appears to be basically one good season but I guess we could say that for many candidates tbh.
If we?re going for the likes of Buckingham and Evatt and maybe still LW their probably still weighing up their options which is understandable with it still being early doors, plus I guess it?s the 2 weeks when everyone is away for managers who have been in work.

To have 3 EFL promotions on your CV is exactly what you want, as we know that this trick is repeatable.
The manner of the last two dismissals, however, should give pause for thought. Those stats are alarming, although it can happen when you're not good enough for the Championship as a smaller club. Even so, it suggests that when things are good he can keep them rolling. When they're not, he can't stop them spiralling down

Very much so. I?m not doubting the calibre of the viable candidates is higher, what I?m disputing is the volume.Originally posted by SmiffyPie View PostIs that a serious question?
Russel Martin wouldn?t have applied for the Notts job and the York manger wouldn?t apply for the Rangers job but probably would the Notts job.
There?s no reason Rangers pool of candidates is higher than Notts just because it?s a better job. To go to extremes I?d say the pool and amount of viable candidates for the Real Madrid job is less than Notts as they can only look down and we for example can look up and down the leagues for candidates.
