Who does it benefit for him to announce where he is going during the tournament?

But that was back in March that was announced. I imagine once a tournament is underway an FA wants no distractions and total focus on it, no media questions directed at him etc and that?s why to my knowledge I?ve never heard of it happening just before or during a tournament and remember we?re owned by Dane?s so they probably don?t want to be seen as rocking the boat either. It?s a complete hunch from me, nothing else.Originally posted by irishpete View PostWhy can't he announce he's going to a club but, the Danish FA can announce his replacement?. If the players know he is going before the tournament starts, can't see how it will make any difference to when he announces his depature

You mean it benefits the Notts fans some of which are seemingly getting very restless.Originally posted by irishpete View PostIt benefits the club he is going to & the fans.
What difference does it make to him saying if all the Danes know he's gone after it?
Perhaps he/they view it simply that there is more downside than upside in announcing it. Seems logical to me. Of course all this assumes it is him of course

It benefits the club as well. It's out in the open no secrecy, maybe boost season ticket sales, get a buzz going.Originally posted by Boomerangpie View PostYou mean it benefits the Notts fans some of which are seemingly getting very restless.

I?d love to know who we are getting but by the same token I?m confident it?s in hand. I just go on the bros are more about action than lip service.Originally posted by Could'vebeenacontender View PostI suppose we should all be patient
Que sera sera
They?ve been pretty decisive on all appointments, IB was lined up and Ardley let go even though he wasn?t doing terrible, LW came in June, SM was their No 1 choice and also recommended by LW and appointed quickly, wether they were good decisions or not they were decisive and efficient doing it.

It is conceivable if it?s Hojer there?s an agreement in place with the Danish FA they don?t want it announcing in the tournament, whether or not he?s leaving at the end he?s contracted to them this minute in time and they are perfectly within their rights to do that.Originally posted by irishpete View PostIt benefits the club as well. Alternatively their crossing the T?s and dotting the Is with someone else this week or alternative to that maybe as some have alluded to their getting nowhere with it but I?m pretty sure as soon as they can tell us they will.

This was posted just over a week ago, I guess it?s how you perceive ?near future? but for me that statement suggests done deal.
?The news of Dr Rhodes? appointment precedes an important update we look forward to sharing with supporters in the near future.
?As well as introducing our new coaching team, we?ll be announcing a restructuring of our football department ? and explaining how it will help us achieve our ambitious plans for the club.?

I read that as they had either made, or were close to making, the decision. Then someone on the new Notts forum put forward Højer's name and it all seems to fit together. Any announcement might be out of the club's control. There's a lot of fretting on here, but our owners haven't done much wrong so far, I'm optimistic.Originally posted by matt_magpie View PostThis was posted just over a week ago, I guess it?s how you perceive ?near future? but for me that statement suggests done deal.

The longer it goes on the more it seems plausible that it could be someone who is currently contracted elsewhere, or has other commitments that have to run their course first before it can be announced. The same goes for any other coaches that might be coming into the club.Originally posted by matt_magpie View PostIt is conceivable if it?s Hojer there?s an agreement in place with the Danish FA they don?t want it announcing in the tournament, whether or not he?s leaving at the end he?s contracted to them this minute in time and they are perfectly within their rights to do that.

Potential candidates who were already out of work would on the face of it be the quickest appointment to make as there is no severance package or negotiation with another club. It's four weeks tomorrow since SM left the building so even allowing for a period of time out of respect to the former manager before an announcement on the new one is made four weeks is a while. Unless negotiations were complex.
Then there are those candidates who may already be at a club like with SM and the blueprint brothers were and if there are negotiations to be had then with holidays this on the face of it would take longer than those who are out of work.
Whilst the announcement on head coach has yet to be made things have been moving at the club as announcements have been made on the training ground, four players and The Doc since SM's departure. The brothers have done enough in six years to earn fans trust and we just have to remain patient.

That invite referring to hearing the thoughts of the head coach about the fixtures went out on June 6, so like everyone else I’m baffled what the delay is over an appointment.Originally posted by BigFatPie View PostI read elsewhere that the club are putting something on for fixture release day, where apparently the invitees will get to hear the thoughts of our new head coach.
Must be confident itll be announced and he will be in position by then.

The wording suggested imminence so it's likely something DID happen. That could be any number of things, right?Originally posted by nw6pie View PostThat invite referring to hearing the thoughts of the head coach about the fixtures went out on June 6, so like everyone else I?m baffled what the delay is over an appointment.
...a late pull-out by someone who had agreed, late breakdown of deal due to certain contract clauses (i.e. compensation plan),
the sudden re-emergence of a favoured candidate (i.e. when told we were going in a different direction), or something as simple as extended holidays.
baffled is fine, I'm happy to be baffled, I don't need a running commentary on the club's internal appointment process and it's good the bros are calm and professional enough not to need to give one. All the incoming transfer news will do for now. It's going to be any day now and if it isn't there'll be a good reason.
