Thoughts? Oliver Norburn has always been the team captain and I was unhappy that Palmer did not take control of the Jatta incident against Cheatbledon

Can?t be Norburn. He?s one of our new signings so by default is rubbish and why would he accept the captaincy of a team destined for relegation? I think we?ll give it to Langstaff or McGregor when we re-sign both of them in a show of real intent from the brothers.Originally posted by Elite_Pie View PostNorburn if he can become a regular starter. He has a reputation as a leader.

He isn't rubbish, he is injured. So he would not be able to start the season as captain.Originally posted by CamPie View PostCan?t be Norburn. I fear you may be right. Whether it was playing in L2, recovery from injury with a (potential) ongoing fitness concern, the ageing process, or the captaincy last season was a bit of a regression for one of our standout players. On the basis that I think the captaincy didn't help I'd rather the captaincy went to someone else. Platt feels too introverted (I could be wildly wrong) and, although he is an excellent defender he needs all his concentration on what to do with the ball when in possession.Originally posted by legs77 View Postif he gets on the pitch he?ll be captain of the treatment room with Ness and Robertson someone had to take Cundy place !!!
Chances are it?ll still be Palmer.
I do believe that it is important not to give the armband to someone who is temperamentally not suited (nutter/introvert/worrier). I reckon giving the captaincy to the quiet and apparently introverted Harry McGuire at Man U was a factor in his down turn in form
.
I'd give it the new bloke or Bedeau who does give the impression of being a natural leader.
