  • No new head coach. A theory

Obviously this is wild speculation on my part but something does not feel right here.We have noticed several candidates shoot up to strong favouritism and then disappear.Yes the view is that somebody puts a quid on but i think its not that.My theory is we are approaching people they talk to us and then decide they dont fancy it.So here is my theory as to why they dont fancy it .An uncompetitive playing budget and a view that the playing side of the club is playing second fiddle to the infrastructure.Actually there is a case to play a long game re infrastructure but fans will not see it that way.I believe that prospective managers are getting spoken to and thinking they dont fancy it.

I disagree. I think the owners identified their man a long time ago and it's already 'done deal'. This is why they didn't replace the coaches and quickly released Maynard as soon as the season was over. My theory is that they have already appointed the head coach and the rest of the new team on the 'footballing department' and they are just waiting for everyone to return from holidays and 'other commitments'* before doing a proper launch before the pre-season gets underway.

*in terms of 'other commitments' I'm beginning to wonder if the Denmark U21 Manager Steffen Hojer could be the man they're bringing in? He's currently away in Slovakia with the Danish U21s. They've won their first 2 games and play their final game in the Group stages tomorrow night. They are expected to progress to the Quarter Finals which take place next weekend. If they were to progress to the final we might be waiting until the end of the month before we get an announcement. Would be a decent appointment though, especially if he's surrounded by other coaches who know the EFL well. Luke Williams has previously said that he'd be happy to work as an assistant somewhere. Just saying'.....

Think thats a bit of a stretch to be fair. If it is this chap, i dont know why they wouldnt announce it before that tournament started. End of June is very late. Id be happy if it was him, looks like hes got a decent cv.

4 weeks is a very long time to be without a head coach.

When we appoint a manager this is going to all look a bit tin foil hat from you

There?s a lot of rubbish written on this site but this one is really up there. Why do certain Notts fans seem to want to believe the conspiracy theory all the time. The bookies really do not have a clue on this one but the market is pretty small so the don?t give a s**t. If anyone was really ITK they?d have lumped on and the odds would reflect that.

Imagine if we bought Luke Williams back to be assistant manager, as soon as we lose a game everyone would want the manager out and replaced by Luke Williams.

I said the same a couple of days ago and was shot down in flames but I do think this is the situation. No decent quality manager is going to agree to being given a squad of players he has not had any input to and then told to play in a certain way!! It?s crazy and won?t work!!

It will work with FM2024 and an AI PC and screen in the HoR's office. It could be linked to the big screen and the tannoy system and we will all be able to see and hear the "coach" giving it's instructions.

Maybe they're gonna put a fan in charge of every game, they'll give you a random number when you click through the turnstile and if your number comes out. Congratulations, you're in charge of today's game

The problem on here is you express an opinion and then get shot down by someone with a negative iq so there you go.I stick with my original post.

Worked with Luke Williams. I'd say he did OK.

Of course it worked with LW because we were a "big" team with a very good squad, in the National League! Didn't seem to stop him leaving though did it.

Talk of disrespect, “poster with negative iq” doesn’t come into that category?
