Disappointing. Everyone leaves. At some point we have to become a club that good players and coaches want to join, instead of repelling them.

Did I read ‘matches our valuation’. To release a key player don’t we need to see ‘exceeds our valuation’

Anyway, it explains why Bass looked so awkward and miserable walking in with Edwards. Him and his agent probably knew it was just a matter of days

I'm usually the biggest optimist at the beggining of a season but at the moment all I see this year is struggle. Sincerely hope I'm proved wrong.

Goes to show we've no ambition. I can see we'll be in national league again. How could they let him go?

Why? They're a division higher, will be aiming for promotion, will give him a substantial pay rise and he'll be their number 1. From his perspective, it's a great move.

From ours, we signed him for buttons and made a substantial profit, while continuing to demonstrate to future signings that if they do well here, we won't stand in their way. That allows us to sign better players in future, while it also makes us more of a sustainable club.

Players come and players go, only now they don't just leave us on a free.

Nailed it ! I think they would like us to sign mediocre players that are 5h17 and no one is interested in signing from us...!! Bingo we dont ever sell anyone !!x

Wouldn't call 150k buttons. We were told the model that was to sign players improve them, hope to sell on for profit & re invest the money. Not seen that side of it yet plus they are getting gates far better than anyone envisaged. We're in for a long season.
We only needed tweeks on last seasons squad. Now we are looking at a rebuild. Do that every season & you are going nowhere in the league.
The old excuse will be out" the players need time to gel"

My granny is a great goal keeper I have recommend her to notts. They may has well sign her they will only have to pay her enough to cover the winter fuel payment which she lost last winter. Notts have only signed in my opinion DROSS including the players and manager (this does not include the the assistant manager who seems to be decent sort.).

Very disappointed about this, thought he was great and about time we had a proper keeper you thought might actually save shots.

It's fine buying players and selling them for more, we need to run a tight ship. If we start to stagnate though then the fans aren't going to be happy and it turn will vote with their feet.

I don't have a clue how we'll be next season so I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised ha ha.

I'm sure Radar will know all about your Granny and the club will be in touch accordingly ! One thing on her side is they say Keepers get better with age !!

Yeah, the club have to be aware that we are not attracting or retaining well for the level like we were in the NL, so have to find the balance that keeps some upward momentum.

With the departures, we're well short of being competitive - a big month coming up. Many have left on a fee, so whether that's fees back or wages, we need to see some real quality coming in.

Unless we can get Archie Mair, I'd prefer that to be on outfield players. Our recent rivals Wrexham and Wimbledon benefitted from taking Prem goalkeeping talent on loan. We should try to copy that.

A little disapointed to see Bass depart, it will be a tough job getting a replacement at his standard.
Who's in the sticks for Alfreton?, maybe radar has flagged him up or Roy Carroll will be signing again!.
