  • New Season

Well it's already upon us and so far so good. The bulk of the squad who finished so strongly last season are still with us coupled with a few decent new signings. It does look good but my only concern would be our overall strength in depth so hopefully another signing ( loans) or two and we can mount a challenge for the top spot.

Great performance and result on Tuesday night. We?ll face a completely different test this weekend but it?s something we should all be looking forward to. Squad depth an issue but it?s something the club are working on. Thankfully Hannah wasn?t broken any bones in his hand and should be available. Big Guthrie is a handful so here?s hoping his fit to play.

Totally agree Spike! Things are looking very promising indeed. Ross County will be a very different beast to Edinburgh City, - especially after their blip at Stranraer, and I think they will be a handful tomorrow. We should keep things tight in the first half, - then hit them like we did to City on Tuesday night in the second half and hopefully we'll get a positive result.

Many fans treat this cup competition as a pre season tournament, - but we have a serious chance of proceeding...........if that positive result comes tomrorow. Fingers crossed Queens.

I thought that we played exceptionally well in the first half with some very slick flowing football. The second half I thought we looked jaded but had no real options on the bench other than the two trialist one of which eventually made it on. Lyon did well in the first half leading the line but tired badly in the second and should have been moved into the midfield earlier. We need more numbers either fit or on loan but we will be a real candidate for promotion this season.

A perfect reply Spike and my question of the manager is this: why with 2 trialists on the bench did you not change the shape earlier?
As it is, by bringing on no 29 and moving Lyon back, we not only contained County but had them on the rack with Kennedy zipping from flank to flank to really frighten them. Unfortunately, as we all know, the change was made far too late, and County had taken advantage of Ben?s mistake (through fatigue) and the game was lost.
I suppose our cup campaign is now over, as we cannot expect the same level from the same squad on Tuesday against Partick?
That?s how close the margins are in these competitions, and a swifter managerial decision may have seen us remain in contention, - despite our limited resources on the bench.

We?ll be all good once the English teams decide who?s becoming available to go out on loan.

A tough start to the season away to Cove this weekend but one I feel we must go out and not be too cautious about like we usually do away from home. Let?s have a right go at them from the first whistle. Slightly concerned we?re still light in numbers but I believe we?ll be adding real quality soon if rumours are true.
ICT are favourites for the league but it?s a bonus for us they?re starting on minus 5 points.

Fantastic start to the season yesterday. Worrying that Benji and Hannah picked up injuries though. Benji apparently ok but a worry about big Jack?s rib injury

Hopefully a big turnout next Saturday at home to Hamilton.

How long did it take us to register our first away win last season and now one game in we have one, away to Cove at that.

And now Jim McLinden has stepped down with immediate effect ?. That?s a right kick in the balls for the club. I?m fearing the worst now

Great start to the season on Saturday.👍
Jim Mclinden leaving so quick at the weekend seems strange... Maybe never hear the truth.
Never really heard how much he put into the club financially, he had a good way with the fans but need more than that from a director.

All very sudden after talking about all these plans he had including 2 new directors coming in as early as this week. That?ll be that finished then. This is a real concern especially with players on big wages and paying some of their accommodations. Hannah & Stott are actually staying in his properties ffs.

It was never a good idea to have one or two drinks the night before the game and say something completely out of order to a fellow board member that you?ll regret and have no other option but to resign immediately the day after the game.
Very sad really concerning what was allegedly going to happen this week at Palmerston.

We?re back to square one now with only two directors who?ve struggled to get anyone else in to take over from them.

Where do we go from here ?

Its important that we do all our talking on the pitch and not be side-lined by what someone may or may not have said or inferred off it.

Extremely disappointing game today with no passion shown from the manager right through to the players. John Rankin by comparison was screaming at his players when they were 2-0 up!
Hamilton looked a very decent side, but we made it too easy for them and we could easily have lost 7 goals today.
