Well what a totally abject performance that was. Queens are always like lambs to the slaughter in away matches on Alba. Hopefully they'll bounce back in a fortnight at home to Cove Rangers either side of a double header away then home to Dunfermline in Scottish & Challenge Cups

It certainly doesn?t inspire the fans who have chosen to stay away during the poorer periods. A missed opportunity for Queens to close the gap on the league leaders, but more realistically it only served to demonstrate the gap between Queens and Inverness.

Right from the whistle we were 2nd best. Inverness are a good side but we never once laid a glove on them. An embarrassing performance yet again.
I?m actually really worried how our club can survive financially what with players on big wages and average crowds of approx 1,000 fans.

Let?s hope we bounce back against Dunfermline. The Fifers would have watched that game and thought ? we just need to turn up?. The players we have are capable of causing an upset, but they?d need to be completely focused and performing at their best. Will that happen? I suspect not, but we live in hope.

I do hope so Jardi, however hope is the crucial word. Like the other night, I just think there are levels. People like Douglas, as honest a player as he is, is really out of his depth above L2 level. It's not a dig at him as it's not his and countless others fault but it's just the way it is.
Dickensen (when fully fit), Lyon, Smith/Kennedy (on a going day), Hannah and Stewart are the only ones I think are good enough really.
The one thing that was unforgivable on Sat night though was lack of any real effort

With several players on 2 year deals then we will have no option to sell them if we don?t get promoted this season. Are we actually only surviving because of oor Billy ? I think it?s the only way we can be as we?re losing money every single season.Originally posted by jardi View PostThe reality is we cannot survive as a full time club, paying high wages and we need to cut our cloth accordingly.
Really frustrating that he continues say absolutely nothing even after McLinden left.

You are unequivocally correct. Despite the abuse he gets, it is undoubtedly Billy Hewitson that keeps the club going. Anyone who thinks otherwise is in cloud cuckoo land.
So what if he's not a talking head, it's not in everyone's gift. Look at all of those at the top. Mansour, Kroenke, Radcliffe, Desmond, Bloom, etc, etc. You rarely hear from them. Same with most CEO's of large corporations. The alternative is people like McLinden, all talk and no substance

I?m with Threefivetwo, Billy Hewitson is entirely responsible for keeping this club afloat and he is a very private person, who doesn?t want or need a lot of fuss. The vast majority of people fall into that camp, yet it is entirely reasonable for football fans to assume he must be gregarious and a good communicator. Perhaps we just need to cut him some slack?
