Is his time up after tonight?s embarrassing result ?

  • #2
Just the eighth defeats so far in all competitions and we?re still in September.

I think it?s time the club made a change unfortunately. Last nights result was a complete and utter embarrassment.

One of the worst in our history.,

Couldn't agree more. I was there and have to say it wasn't just the result (against the team 3rd bottom of the Lowland League). They were played off the park as well.

He would appear to be incapable of motivating his players or changing tactics in any way, shape or form.

Matt Douglas has also went backwards for me this season.

Our club is struggling financially and these results have a knock on effect to our attendances.

IMO the 2 remaining board members have a massive decision to be made ASAP.

Would also be nice if they gave the supporters an update on what?s going on behind the scenes.
Since big Jim left it?s the usual radio silence.

His time should have been up long ago.

The worrying thing is Peter's interviews and he doesn't even seem to realise the problems. The team has no personality and little connection.
On last night's game if Matty Douglas was not fit he should of been subbed as we had another four defenders on the pitch and then to even offer the young strikers as an excuse is such poor man management.
The lack of motivation of a manager standing cross armed was so stark.
              Must do so much better.

We?ve spent a load of money on players like Smith, Kennedy, Hannah & Stott who are all on two year contracts so if we do go part-time next season we?ll probably have to sell them on. It?s quite simple if we don?t go up this season then the gamble of doing so hasn?t worked. A small squad with players on alleged big wages was always a massive gamble. Those players plus the likes of Lyon & Stewart could most probably be playing at a higher level so it?s all down to the way the manager is setting up the team to play that we?re struggling IMO. Unfortunately we?ve a few lads who aren?t just good enough and we?re crying out for a midfield enforcer. A Steve McKenna type of player.

For me Murphy lacks the motivational skills required to get us out this league.

You watch young Lewis Gibson come back to haunt us at the weekend. 3 assists in 3 games for Montrose already. A player we were offered on loan but didn?t want or couldn?t afford.

Given the amount of money Murphy has spent on the squad, - the BOD will be saying to him get it sorted please. I'd give him a little more time, but tell him in no uncertain terms that if he persists with his nonce goal kicks that his ass will be kicked out the door......he's persisted for 18 months and it wasn't working at the beginning. ICT couldn't believe their luck as Oscar McIntyre told them Murphy would play pitter patter goal kicks which allowed ICT to play 'shooty in.'

Normally I'd have taken Lewis in a heart beat, - but we already have Smith and Kai, so he'd be surplus to requirements and someone would be benched, - - as we have Kurtis Guthrie, - meaning Goss was surplus too when he was available.

The midfield general is what we are looking for, - and a manager who shows a bit more passion.

Come on the South and come on Murphy, - show us you are not a one trick pony and vary things on the park with the clearly talented players we have.....................................please!

Critical time in our season now. Do we keep Murphy because we can?t afford to get rid of him with the resultant drop in attendance due to the drivel performances which are being produced.
Or do we bin him now and hope his successor can get an improvement from the players.
I?m definitely in favour of the latter option.

Don?t like to see anyone lose their job but it?s a result based industry when you are a football manager. His time is up IMO.

Young Gibbo supplying the goods yet again. 5 assists in 5 games for Montrose. He?s certainly proving his doubters wrong and those at Palmy who didn?t want him back on loan.

Another interview where the manager has nothing to do with the defeat. Madness to put Reece in defence and weaken our midfield. When Kennedy was subbed on Reece was going mad not knowing where he was playing. Not a happy team.
It is the managers job to build a team with different skills and build team spirit which he has been lacking in.
                          Smith and Stott were poor.
I thought Mackenzie showed promise and showed some passion.

Players arguing on the pitch again yesterday. Even they have had enough.

I wasn't at the game but the highlights look a very disjointed performance. Peter says we kept going to the end but it doesn't look like we were battering Stranraer to get the equaliser.
Yesterday seemed a good chance to build on the Alloa win but it just seems to have added to the frustration of fans and worryingly the players which Sandra even raises in her interview.
The coaching team seem to have lost sight of what we are trying to do. You can't tell me a firebrand of a player like Colin McMenamin would enjoy how we are approaching games and you can see the same in the players.
Onto Peterhead so let's get the team motivated and leave the excuses at home.
