I've got a strange feeling this season could be better than we are all expecting...
Squad is thin and we have several players picking up little knocks.
My question is. Who de we think from the present squat will be a hit in 25/26.
I am going with jack Holmes. I think if we can give him 4 or 5 games to get his confidence going he will be a huge hit this season. Though I'm not sure his best starting position. If Hamshaw plays his preferred 352. Does he play as the right wingback? (He's not the best at defending). Or do we give him a free roll as one of the front 2 or number 10.
Anyway who do you think will shine?

I agree about Jack Holmes (RU66 doesn't which makes me even more confident he'll be a success &#128578 but I think he's going to need to play as an out and out winger if we're going to see the best of him.
I'm also hoping Kane Richardson will bring some much needed energy to the midfield and it would be a real bonus if Ted Cann could nail down the goalkeeper slot.
There's no doubt we still need a number of signings though but keeping the majority of the existing squad fit and injury-free would also be a welcome novelty!

McGuckin more chance he will be our wide right player if not need a signing there. Holmes will be loaned out in January gone next summer. Hatton seen something in him last season chance he could make into a 1st team match day squad player this season.

It shows the state of things when a player who was clearly miles out of his depth last year, is now being touted as this years potential - and even then in a different position.

The more I hear from MH, the more I fear for the future. He’s the cheap option and one that TS knows won’t rock the boat and ask for money.

Be warned though MH - he will have you out on your ear come November before the next random appointment.

Cayton, for me pal it has to be Zak Jules. He will have a good mentor in Woody. Zak is in his prime and without Raggett
to sort it all out on the back line, it's time he stepped up to the plate and makes it his responsibility to command our defence.

Fitness is obviously uppermost as he didn't have a good appearance time last season but, it's all there for the taking this season and a possible contract renewal if he delivers well. I will be observing him throughout the season.

As for Jack Holmes, who knows you may well be right in that he delivers well if given the game time but even he must know that now McGuckin is there looking to claim a place on the right, he has to fight for it all. Good luck to them both and hopefully they have a good season.

Jules he's just not mobile enough also in thought. Any club with ambitions in this league he wouldn't get in their sides. Said MH he's got to go with his head not his heart. My charity bet this season you can do in 5 tenners or 2 25's Holmes & Kayode won't be regular starters in our side this season. 50 pounds if bets on from me to the Rotherham hospice if they are either one of them.

It all reminds me of the late 70s what we're about to see..lots of home schooled players..brechin, stancliffe, Philips, womble, Finney, etc etc..but it took a long time to bring them together, and they weren't quite good enough until the arrival of Moore, towner, seasman, and mullen..of which proved to be the finishing touch...
Our best two players have just left and it appears, up to now, there's no one coming in..is this a different strategy to build a team over a few years and bring the youth through?
Looks like it up to now..or are we fed up of paying agents and nothing to show for it?.. doesn't look good at all..

Is that what you think will happen or secretly wanting to happen? This then will demonstrate TS is the problem and those last managers weren’t NWC.

MH will do a good job if given time. Just get behind him mate.

I think the O/P was written with the heart not the head, our squad as it stands is nowhere near good enough for Lge1.Back 3 in this Lge will not work without a very good midfield something we don’t have.

Can?t reply directly for some reason but I don?t want Rotherham to fail or MH. I just post as I see it. There is very little to be positive about - poor signings, no investment and regurgitating nonsense about current players who are proven duds.

As for the Advertiser and Paul Davies - he needs to get a job done and ask some proper questions. He?s such a patty with the Club. That recent article on clearing the stadium is a ****ing disgrace to journalism

If we get another 4 ir 5 decent players in,I think we may have a good season, which in my eyes would be top 8,with some kids playing a significant part.

Some of the names being banded around are intriguing and fill me with some confidence that things could change - young and hungry. But I?m not convinced we have the real drive to get them when it comes to the money.
