Apart from a goalie that's a pretty good sickbay XI

Watched brief highlights they should have won it before extra time. Hamshaw needs to get real. Should never have kept Holmes & Kayode. Send Sherif & Etete back in January. McGuckin & Ayres should be available now not out on loan. Still nobody wide right. Martha playing there keep saying same as last season with Wilkes no width then playing a left sided player cutting inside all the time on the right. Duncan give him a chance. Clarke another next Vertu game start him in his best position see what we've got.

How many are genuinely injured? Do they really want to play or was it a case of I’m not putting myself out there.

A win in the 2nd round might have brought a premier club, another decent payday.

Instead the club ends up with 15,800 pounds in the coffers.

It would seem that the manager got it all wrong today, but a wins in the FA cup,
& a game against a premier league club, would have brought money in, which
in respect paid Hugill's salary for the rest of the season.
I have missed games for the last 8 weeks, so can't comment on games I've missed,
due to my wife being / still is in hospital after having life saving operation for this
              period of time.
I hope your wife recovers and good luck to you and yours, I agree with the football content of your post. RUFC do not have money to throw away, in addition cup games against bigger clubs can bring excitement to the fans and offer a chance to the players to prove themselves above their level. Yesterday was a great opportunity to get a little closer to the potential of such a day. The chances of getting to the 3rd round of the FA cup is a lot better than coming 6th in the league, you only have to win two games compared to having to win around 45% of your league games to get in 6th place. The league is obviously the core but the cups bring other values to a season and shouldn't be treated as unimportant. However I have to assume that yesterday the level of injuries yet again impacting the squad was the main reason for such a poor performance.

It will be interesting to see how many of those players have Lazarus moments before Tuesday. being that we have had press comments and interviews, talking about the injury crisis in such a positive way over the last few weeks, it seems strange that yet again we have so many injuries so quickly. Hamshaw talked about two on Friday pulling out of training, what do they do to these players. A lot of our injuries have occurred in training this season, which should be an area of concern.

After all the hype from Hamshaw how he respected the cup and wanted us to do well out if it this season, it was all hot air with the side he put out and especially the bench.

What the club doesn't realise is, with the way they handled what stand to open etc they kept some of our fans away from attending. Then the team offered was pants. I saw the likes of Raggett/Baptiste play Tuesday night and were full of themselves after the win against City's U21's, they weren't even on the bench yesterday??

Sherif deserved to be subbed and we saw more out of his replacement Gardner in 18 minutes than what he delivered in 44. Not impressed by him at all and he's now supposedly fit and back up to speed. Hamshaw needs to look long and hard at both Sherif and Etete with a view to returning them both to their parent clubs come January with what they both delivered so far.

Why wasn't Josh Eyres on the bench, was he cup tied with his loan club?

Sorry Matt Hamshaw that wasn't acceptable by your set up or deliverance. Yes, Tuesday is what we call a 6 pointer but a cup run brings in the chance of big money to a club like ours and you blew it. An extra 30 minutes we could have well done without. I trust those that played the whole 120 minutes get Monday off to rest in readiness for Tuesday.

Most of the above were in the stands and not many were hobbling so I would expect 3 or 4 being available for Tuesday... I guess it's a fine line for hamshaw between taking a risk and crocking them for 2 months or resting them for a cup nobody seems interested in.
James came off holding his ribs so unless it's a cracked rib I would expect seeing him available

Missed an opportunity to make some cash though pal and Tony won't have been impressed.

The supporters deserve at least an effort to produce a cup run. Hamshaw imo got it wrong yesterday. Yes we have injuries but he imo wasn’t interested in getting a result. So basically it’s ok for us to pay to go and it’s ok for him to send out a team lacking in impetus because after twenty minutes that what’s happened. Why aren’t we giving it a go in the cup? It’s arrogant of him to think it doesn’t matter enough. I’m annoyed at his attitude after the game yesterday. It mattered more to the opposition that’s for sure. I’m not happy with him at all after yesterday. What’s that saying you can fool some of the people some of the time and so on.

If we had incentivised contracts (ie wages) based on availability .....there would be a miraculous return to fitness.
We need to sort this injury nonsense out once and for all.
As stated previously we never had any of this bollox in the 60s 70s 89s 90s etc etc.
But it's ever so cosy n the sick bay when it's cold dark and rainy

If I was a player/coach I would have looked at the way the club ownership treated the game regarding the fan base and thought if they don't give a **** why should I.

Matt will stand or fall based on league results/position. When I worked I knew how my performance was measured and what constituted 'success ' and I focused my efforts/priorities on ensuring that was achieved, he's doing exactly the same and I won't criticise him for it.

Disagree a club the size of ours needs money from cup runs etc. if his priority is just the league then he’s behind target for sure. I don’t buy it and I don’t think he does he’s just saying what he thinks we want to hear. It’s not fooling most sensible people. His lack of ambition yesterday was criminal.
