Very impressive how this lad has stepped up, barely puts a foot wrong, wins everything in the air and doesnt give silly fouls away or panic. looks like he could be the next player to transition properly from the academy to full team without needing any loans for development.

I am glad I am not the only one Lol.

The benefit he has is that playing centre half is not his natural position.

When he is pushed further up the pitch which he will be when the real centre halves are fit he will be able to use this experience and know what is needed in defence.

The main thing is for him is that he continues to develop.
We know that MH sees him capable to fit the role that Crooks played.

I can?t imagine how good he will be in 3 years but I know Matt Hamshaw does.

To be fair frog, certainly in my opinion, Hamish has all the physical attributes to play in the position he's playing in, and he's proving, maybe to himself too, that he looks like a natural centre half. I don't see him as a Reo Ferdinand type CH at the moment although he does pass the ball well, but Reo would carry the ball forward out of defence, whereas young Hamish plays the decent but obvious pass, so what exactly is his natural position? and trust me I'm not being sarcastic I honestly didn't realise he wasn't a natural CB. Keep it up young man
I seem to remember Matt Taylor raving about this lad and having him in the first team squad. I had a look and he was on the bench back in Nov 23 when we won at Bramall Lane. Yet Evans last season would not allow the lad to train with the first team or use the first team gym facilities. BAFFLING

Early days for him,but at great start, and exactly what RUFC needs.
Been saying for years for us survive at championship level we've got grow our own talent, and Hamshaw is the best chance of this happening.
Would be great to see a couple more break through this season.
