  • MillersMad Match Thread...Millers v Lincoln City

Welcome to the match thread and another home game. This time we welcome the Imps to the New York Stadium.

    Let's meet our guests.

    The Boss
Michael Skubala was appointed on 13/11/2023. Born in Nottingham, the 43 year old is in his first role as head coach. He had a spell coaching at Leeds before joining Lincoln.

    Player(s) to watch
James Collins is Lincoln's top scorer with 5 goals. The veteran striker (he's 34) will be well known to MH as he played for Derby under Paul Warne. He was Derby's leading scorer when they won promotion from this league.

Adam Reach. The former Owl will be well known to most Millers fans. He made over 200 appearances for Sheffield Wednesday. The 32 year old left back is a regular for Lincoln this season.

    Played for both clubs
Dexter Lembikisa (currently on loan at Lincoln), Cohen Bramall, Josh Vickers, Lee Frecklington, Tony Cunningham, Drewe Broughton, Leo Fortune-West, Paul Pettinger and Jamie Clarke. Andy Warrington coached at Lincoln for a period of time.

    Recent Form
On the road, Lincoln have beaten Peterborough, Burton and Northampton. Drawn at Bradford and Bolton and lost at Leyton Orient and Wimbledon.

They've only won one of their last 5 games (in all competitions) and aren't scoring many at the moment, 2 goals in their last 5 games.

    Latest Odds
    Millers 12/5 Draw 11/5 Lincoln 11/10

    Recent Meetings
    (01/01/2025)
    Lincoln 0 v 1 Rotherham
    (Powell)

    (03/12/2024)
    Rotherham 2 v 1 Lincoln
    (Nombe, Raggett)

    Summary
Lincoln appear to be going through a mini goal drought at the moment, scoring only twice in their last 5 games. James Collins (above) hasn't scored since the beginning of September. However, don't read too much into that. He's a wily old striker who is good in the air and holds the ball up well. He'll be a test for our young central defenders.

Defensively their record is a pretty solid one, particularly away from home. They've only conceded 4 goals away from home in 7 league games.

It's hard to know what to expect on Saturday. Lincoln's form is patchy right now and statistics suggest that this will be a tight game. If we turn up for this, I think we win it by the odd goal.

    Enjoy the game, UTM.

I sometimes throw a couple of quid on a correct score 3-game acca. I might include that.

The Imps have a few injury concerns themselves...

The Imps will definitely be without Ben House for this weekend's trip to the New York Stadium. Rotherham are in the grip of an injury crisis and could be m

Wonder who he's supporting today? He's usually at the NYS.

Take a draw now and a decent performance, these are a good team and we are still work in progress.

A draw is probably the best we can hope for today.
As for a decent performance I?m not so sure about that.
