What a cracking weekend. Firstly met up with the lad who's come home for the weekend and caught up over a couple of pints.
Followed yesterday by an absolutely class performance from the Millers, left NYS absolutely buzzing. Everything about it was just top notch and was great to be part of a lively crowd, especially when we gave stick back to the Imps fans after James' worldy. Proud to be a Miller and take the deserved praise Mr Hamshaw!
Then had a drive north to the quirky little town of Hebden Bridge to watch The Crazy World of Arthur Brown play the Trades Club. What a night, what a gig! The man is 83 years old and still bouncing around the stage with energy and his voice is still as strong as it was back in the 60s. Despite only having one commercial hit, he has an extensive catalogue of excellent music and the visuals for the show are spectacular. Sometimes when you go and see older stars from yesteryear it can be quite sad to see what they have become but Arthur definitely still has it and I urge anyone who has any slight interest in his music to check out a show while he's still touring.
Then finally this morning went to a lovely Remembrance service in my local village to pay respects and reflections for all those heroes who gave their lives so people like me could enjoy amazing weekends like this. We will remember them
In a world with so much gloom, there's still so much to be thankful for
