In football rules what vents your spleen, pisses you off, revs you up?

They've been asking for fans opinions of what rule(s) they would like to see changed. Whether they act on them remains to be seen.

For me it's a few.

1.Ball out of play.

Every time the ball goes out of play, stop the clock. This could be monitored by a neutral person throughout the game and they inform the official when 90 minutes are up and the game ends there. No extra time added on. This would stop time wasting for any winning team or one who is looking to sneak a point out of the game as a draw.

2. Goalkeepers injured requiring on field treatment. (Fake or real)

Once treatment has been given they are to leave the field of play just like an outfield player. No sub keeper allowed as it's only for 30 seconds but if a Manager does sub a keeper they cannot swap back after 30 seconds. Let's see how a team performs without a keeper for 30 seconds . Tough if a keeper was genuinely injured but it would massively cut down on the fake ones.

3. Players harassing officials.

This was supposedly abolished but is now back in the game as officials are failing to clamp down on it.
Introduce a sin bin for 5 minutes for any player, other than a team Captain, who approach an official to question a decision. This would remove this instantly as any team going down to 10 or less players would suffer through their absence.

The goalie one sounds a bit dodgy Brin, but totally agree about all the others.

Wonder how many corners have been awarded against the goalie up to now? At least that's either working or the Ref's can't count yet....

Number 3 for me Brin

When I watch football highlights on a Saturday & Sunday.
Players surrounding the ref when a penalty or free kick given against their team.
Should just be the captain as we know.
Up to ref & 4th official to warn both teams before a game, any player other than the captain of a club, coming to them, will be booked with a yellow card, do it again get a second yellow card,
So end up sent off.
The games have cameras on them , so players doing it would be identified.

I said exactly this to my long-suffering mate at the match Satdi just after the Lincoln keeper appeared to give Sam Nombe a right hook to the head rather than punching the ball - and then faked injury to make it look accidental. Nombe had to leave the field for the ensuing corner whilst the 'keeper stayed on the pitch...

At least 3 players born within 20 miles of the club in every match day squad.

Cap on match day ticket prices.

Ex players incentives to train as referees.

Bring back 3pm Saturday kick offs being normal for the top level.

Don?t get rid of the full Boxing Day fixtures.

The rules they've changed since the Premier League was created. Goal-kicks from the side they went out, kick-offs that now involve the forward being obstructed so the keeper can hoof it up the pitch.
The rest of the stuff can be solved by going back to strong Referees.

1.The ball must be inside the quadrant on corners,like it always used to be.
2.Trying to swop shirts before the end of the game is a booking and free kick.
3.If you make a tackle by taking the ball,then get the man,this isn't a foul,but a jolly good tackle.

To be fair, our keeper has taken advantage of this more than once. One of those which bothers us as fans when it's against us, but not so much when it's our lad slowing the game down.

Number one gripe, and by a mile, simulation. It makes me turn games off when I brave a few minutes of PL or international football, and it's slowly getting far too normal in lower divisions.

Radicalise the lot, starting with cards for simulation even when there's a foul. Two things can be true at the same time, and so often a nothing foul is coupled with play-acting. Book them for that every time. Two minutes off the pitch for anyone who can't get on their feet in 10 seconds. Red cards for players diving for penalties, yellow card anywhere else.

The PL has so much to offer, but it's rare I can watch it for very long because the diving and pretend pain is just embarrassing.

Isn't that just a fallacy Brin? Statistically that's like saying the majority of goals in the PL are scored by foreign players? If the majority of players are foreign then they will statistically fill the majority of categories.

Most of the players I've seen feigning injury at NYS this season didn't seem to be foreign, including those from RUFC.

The goal kicks one definitely Jocks. They'd never let a team choose which side to take a corner from so why do it with goal kicks?
