Correct mate, I would have liked to have seen Vickers comeback In goal.
I liked the centre half of Mansfield Town, when they played at NYS, he ran everything for them, playing from the back to passi g to their midfield.
His contract was up June 2025, don't know where he ended up.

What a fun day that was! A 4-1 hiding and then 5 trains to get home due to massive signalling outage at Leeds. Got home at 10pm

We looked completely out muscled today. Accrington were full of big, athletic meathead types who played physical, well drilled football. We looked tiny and weak in comparison

If I had to throw in any mitigation, maybe with a week to go and our ongoing injury jinx, the players might have made getting through the 90 without a knock their main priority. But thats the best straws I can clutch at to be honest.

Gore had a couple of moments where he showed a bit of class, Nombe put a shift in but always seemed completely out matched by their defenders.

Fair play to Accrington, regardless of which version of us turned up, they gave us a battering.

Tony should come out of his shell and announce relegation on Monday morning.

                We're doomed to ****.

Meant starting all 3 did get on 2nd half. Kelly Holmes substituted at half time answered the question about them. Kaleta Yearwood same fitness? McWilliams midfield holding player? we need.

Un professional set up yesterday ? Look at Stanley starting 11 and just 5 subs exactly set up for next week, as it should be the week before the season starts ! We should have started with as near as possible to our 11 for next week ie Rafferty, Powel, James and McWilliams ? Yes I know we are extremely late in recruitment, nevertheless time for having kids who have no chance of starting as well gone now.
Two big leaders required now to cement all the new lads together ! As I said yesterday this is a Stubbs tippy tapping squad, far too lightweight with very little power or pace ? big week ahead, it’s difficult to recover from a bad start irrespective of of people wanting to give us a month to get organised.

Yep. To think I was frustrated to miss a chance to see our proper team in action and maybe win.

Reflecting on yesterday, as said above, we looked unorganised, weak, ill disciplined and frankly lacking leadership both on and off the field. I’ve just listened to MH, he’s weak. He’s clearly not in charge of what’s is happening both on or off the field. He keeps saying he needs more players and yet doesn’t seem to have a clue as to if and when they are coming. We are absent of a commanding centre half to marshall the team. Thats not Raggett by the way as he might never make it back. Gore is a talent but unless we have the ball it’s wasted. And there is nothing up front at all. Nombe looks to me like he doesn’t want to be here and that other plank shouldn’t even get a shirt.

We are in massive trouble. MH won’t be here by the end of October. You can keep your pies

Don't know how bad or good cann is but if Dawson is keeping him out of the team I would lean towards bad..
Agree hamshaw shouldn't still be swapping and changing players to find his best 11.
Start with the ones he knows and then introduce the newbys.
I can see our starting 11 Vs port vale being

                          Dawson
                          Rafferty Jules agbaird James
                          McWilliams yearwood gore Powell
                          Hugill and nombe

And TBF these have probably been the best out of the bunch. Though I may be tempted to stick the new right wing back as right midfield and drop hugill

                          Dawson
                          Rafferty Jules agbaird James
                          ...........McWilliams
                          Hall. Yearwood Powell
                          .....Gore
                          .........Nombe

Cann for Dawson. Jules James looks like we'll have to go with but weak links. Nombe only forward we have good enough. Holmes Kelly shouldn't be here. Select the best side/formation from the remainder of the squad.

Has anybody heard anything official about Nombe wanting out or any clubs interested in him? I've seen a few comments on here that he looks like he wants away, but I didn't get that impression at all yesterday. He was probably the only player of ours that gave it a real good go. He was up against some real cloggers in the Accrington defence but he kept battling and he deserved his goal. Admittedly, it still doesn't bode well that we struggled so bad against a side a division lower, but I certainly didn't get the impression that Nombe played as though he didn't want to be here.

Mine is speculation based on the assumption we will want to recoup some of the money spent and realistically our sellable assets are Nombe, Powell perhaps a nominal fee for Kelly and that is about it.
