I know this thread is about the Pigs but spare a thought for Morecambe, a feature this morning on BBC says they’ve got till 20th August then they close, apparently they’ve got a buyer ready and waiting but the current owner is playing silly buggers, little or no coverage at the side of the Owls what a surprise

Reading yesterday One senior player not been paid for 3 months. They offered him 1 month wage to cover july so he's slapped in a transfer request.

Yes, and caused internal friction because he has got a guaranteed wages clause when other players have not

Not sure of I read this or I was dreaming it. Don't the fa cover loss of wages to player if the club goes under?

Yes, If a club becomes insolvent, players are entitled to claim unpaid wages through the relevant government body.

Had to laugh at a Weds fans text that was read out on Dee Dar radio yesterday spouting 'Captain Barry Bannan' had signed a new contract and that he was a true Weds player with Blue and white running through his blood

Reality check! He has signed a new contract with Weds cos no one else wanted to sign him and at 36 this year this will probably be his last ever League contract. That fan was making out he was the messiah that will save their club

I think Douglas Bader would have put in a better show in midfield in the 2nd half.

There is only one way Wednesday will survive, and that's administration.
Even if there is someone who wants to buy the club, why would you pay say 50 million for something you can get for virtually nothing soon.

The fans are planning another protest...

                            https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...-b2801464.html

A Trust statement read: “With (Sunday’s) match live on Sky Sports, a visibly empty away end will highlight the seriousness of our club’s plight to a national audience.

“An additional impactful, visual large-scale display has been arranged for the day, which we hope will make a huge statement.

“While we are aware stronger action is required this season, we do not feel this is the correct fixture, the opportunity for nationwide coverage is too good to miss.

What happened to the reported tenuous Wednesday link with US billionaire Tilman Fertitta? Has that ship now sailed? Meanwhile there are rumours that the Hillsborough Stadium will be demolished to make way for a state of the art block of apartments to be named, " Chansiri Towers". This might go some way to recoup the thirty seven and a half million pounds plus interest/add ons Chansiri and a consortium reportedly paid for Sheffield Wednesday.
