So.....before a ball is kicked what do you think about the coming season ?
I think we will do OK,but will have a slow start, but will finish in the top 10,which I would be happy with.
Just as importantly,I`d like to see some of the youngies coming through, and some better football being played.
Similar to Ronnie first time round,he`s a relitively new manager with a lot of work to do,hopefully he will be given a similar amount of time to come good, some patience is needed I feel.

    TLC, you're joking aren't you?

There's some on here who can't wait to see Matty fall flat on his face and will probably want him out by the end of Sept if we get off to a bad start. Probably the same ones who laughed at Warne when he took over with his 20 odd games that saw us relegated.

Had we listened to them, we wouldn't have witnessed three promotions and a great Wembley Trophy win.

It's damn clear......Matt and all of the new lads need to time to gel, understand each other, those of last season also need time to get use to the new system Matt will persevere with until it all clicks. Will he get that time before the hounds are baying for his blood? I very much doubt it, It's win at all costs for some if not most of our fans.

Agree with TLC. Feel there will be frustrating times ahead, but stick with it and all will come good. Think we all want this project to succeed, just hope we can see signs of improvement game by game if things start badly.

We can?t afford to keep chopping and changing so need to stick by Matt and give him a fair crack of the whip.

I honestly do not know and that’s probably what makes it scary and exciting at the same time, for me it’s got echoes of when Neil Redfearn took over from Evans TS gave him free rein with emphasis on youth results went pear shaped and he was gone in October hopefully this time patience is shown by the fan base the coaching staff all have a Rotherham connection plus we’re in the division below from before, this has to work agree with above we can’t keep chopping and changing a steady mid table finish for me with hopefully a better standard of football

Just like those who have gone before him, he will be judged on results, and rightly so. It looks from the outside, like he has been given a fair budget. If he has spent it wisely, then he will get a fair crack of the whip. We will see over the coming weeks and months.

I think the youth is has signed makes sense. As Brin points out above, it would appear that he is aiming for a more cultured approach. The questions in my mind are:

          - does the cultured approach work in this league? Birmingham were a good footballing team but that was a different level

          - where is the experience in the side? I’m particular worried about the centre halves and central midfield.

          - who is our leader? Who will drag the youngsters though when times get tough?

          - where are the goals coming from?

          - is there anyone who can hold down the keepers jersey ?

          Bring on Saturday
