It?s interesting that every Government thinks spin and some lying is to their advantage.

That's why I wear a balaclava when I go out painting roundabouts and hanging flags where they're not wanted.
. Selective memory, of course you know why I’ve called you a coward.

These are compulsive liars. You can?t defend these at all. Well anyone with any ethical values can?t.

There's no doubt Labour are gaining a reputation for funding welfare by taxing work and businesses , whether that is a fair reputation I suppose depends on whether you are in receipt of welfare or are happy enough to contribute to those who arent as well off , for whatever reason , there's also the argument that most of us are only a couple of pay cheques from welfare ourselves .

I'm a bit of a student of political history and I mentioned in an earlier post that whilst we aren't back to the 1970's yet we are in my opinion heading in that direction .

Consider this if you will as a like for like exercise , unemployment is rising , living standards are dropping , inflation is high for essentials and productivity is stagnant , classic 1970's UK .

Now if you factor in AI as the deindustrialisation of the 70's then you aren't a million miles from those times , in fact all that's missing is flared trousers , platform shoes and the Bay City Rollers .

The reason i mention all this is to consider what comes next after this Labour government fails just like it did at the back end of the 70's which propelled Margaret Thatcher to power .

What comes next is a party in Reform who are further to the right than Thatcher was and in my opinion will take a big sledgehammer just as she did to everything that costs work and businesses larger tax bills .

In exchange for lower taxes you'll probably be expected to pay for health insurance , welfare will cut drastically and younger people will be expected to prepare for retirement without the state pension .

All will be presented to us as unaffordable just as state owned industries were presented to us as unaffordable under Thatcher , the NHS will be sold off to the private sector at the earliest opportunity.

The problem as I see it is that it's going to be extremely difficult to argue against this just as it was when Thatcher went to work with our industries , if we are paying higher taxes whilst services don't improve , if we are working harder and longer without feeling any improvement in our finances then I can only see one outcome at the next election .

Letters have been sent to Starmer's Independent Ethics Advisor, demanding he investigates Rachel Reeves, over claims she blatently misled the public about the UK's finances before the Budget. Both Starmer and Reeves are walking on very thin ice.
