If we could keep everyone fit and have 4 attackers available to play we would walk this division

Don't think it's fair to criticise the marking for their goal as the trajectory of the ball was so unpredictable.Originally posted by Brin View PostI came away from the stadium today pleased with the result, and had we had better finishes, all 3 points were there for the taking in the second half.
Credit to Wycombe as they gave us a football lesson in passing in the first half and they fully deserved, albeit lucky, their goal. Where was our marking for the goal, a crazy deflected looping ball even caught Dawson out as he remained on his line.
Half time team talk and we were completely different in the second half. More committed, better passing, some good movements that opened them up on both flanks and we gradually grew and grew. Another well worked goal and we were back in it with what looked like only one team would win it in the last 10 minutes.
I have to ask the obvious question. Why when their player shoved his face into Dan Gore's, why was he only shown a yellow card? Any physical contact applied facially like he did warranted a straight red. Ref may not have seen it but the linesman should have been able to assist him and that player should have gone.
Passion, commitment, graft, unity, with a never say die attitude, now stretches our run to 9 unbeaten. Considering how many are missing through injury, you surely have to praise the lads for their application. Well done keep it going.
My thought on the head butt was the card was given for intent. Had he made contact he would have received a red. Not sure why Gore got a yellow. He didn't appear to overreact to the provocation. Too verbal?

We got "Wycomed" today.
I'm often wrong but today went exactly as I expected. They scored a goal and then, apart from the odd break, they closed the shop door on us. Wycombe style game management, time wasting, etc. But ultimately they're a well organised and disciplined team and you can see why they're hard to beat. Fair play, it was a classic away display from them, one we'd be happy with.
That said, we were probably Sam Nombe away from winning the game. We did well to get back into it and I thought the longer the game went on, the more likely we were to win the game, but sadly not to be.
Looking at the bigger picture, I'm convinced that Hamshaw will do a good job at this football club. I just sense that our trajectory is upwards right now. The players look like they're playing for one another, and the manager. We play some neat football at times and so onwards and upwards it is.
The reshuffle in January will be interesting, you never know, uncle Tony might dust off his wallet 😁

Stockbridge yet again. Terrible ref. Coasts thro matches with no control. No.2 Grimmer, apt name should have walked.
Another gritty display. Woeful first half, ex miller fred ado given freedom down the right, powell and james at fault 3 times and got away with until one too many. Should not need half time to change things. Draw hinged on being given the freedom of our right once, and the goal?..without that one move we would have lost. Which would have been unjust. Not impressed with wycombe but better than they usually are.
We need proper wide player and nombe back.
However, if nombe isn?t sold i?ll eat my season card?.he is being fattened up for market.Last edited by Old_time_miller; 29-11-2025, 08:39 PM.

I really enjoyed the game, I thought Wycombe controlled the first 25 mins, but then we started to get into the game. We gradually asserted leading up to half time, pushing Wycombe back, although they always looked dangerous on the counter. The 2nd half was similar, with us pushing them back, but them looking threatening on the break, and us eventually getting a well deserved leveller, all in all a fair result and considering our striker injuries, Jordan Hugill is doing fantastic in leading the line and playing way more time per game than he used to when we had options. A worthy, fighting second half after a lacklustre first. I thought Wycombe were going to break our unbeaten run. Instead we very nearly broke theirs.
It's interesting to note that, had we taken wins instead of draws from just two of our unbeaten nine match run games, we would be on equal points with the club in the last spot in the play-off mini league (Bolton.) My feeling is that, without the endless injury merry-go-round, that's about where we could justifiably be sitting.

We are a good team with some very good players. Just zero luck with injuries so far this season. Name a team in this league that could go 9 unbeaten without a recognised centre half in the team? We are missing Jules, Baptiste, Lenny, Ragget, Holmes (T), Kaletta, Nombe, Etete, McWilliams & Sherrif. I know Holmes (T) & McWilliams made appearances yesterday, but neither are anywhere near match fitness. Wycombe were one of the better sides I have seen this season, get players back and we win comfortable. We will 100% be in the play off mix come the end of the season.

Hall was outstanding in the second half. What a great signing he is.
Gore is getting better each game. They are both championship quality.
You can award Reece James player of the season now for me.
No game until a week on Wednesday so if we can get Whatmore signed, that?s plenty of time to get him training with the team.

Scum rumour is we have signed Watmore on a deal till the end of the season but have no idea if this is true someone told me they can?t announce till December 1st (is this something to do with wages?) if he had signed surely someone would have seen him at the game yesterdayOriginally posted by Scum-Triumphant View PostHall was outstanding in the second half. Only thing I can say is IF Nombe had played yesterday we would have won as we desperately needed someone with some pace and one of those chances would have been put away by him I have no doubt

Upon seeing the highlights I have to agree and I retract my point on marking up. In realtime all I saw were several red shirts around him with no one trying to out jump him. Douglas was the closest but like you say, the wicked arcing of the ball caught everyone out.Originally posted by mygiddypant View PostDon't think it's fair to criticise the marking for their goal as the trajectory of the ball was so unpredictable.

Uttis, IF we have signed Watmore, he's been training with that Weds lot so should be up to some kind of speed and won't be as cold/slow as some might think. Plus, you would like to think while he's not been playing, he's been keeping himself reasonably fit and working out in readiness for his next club/challenge.Originally posted by uttis View PostScum rumour is we have signed Watmore on a deal till the end of the season but have no idea if this is true someone told me they can?t announce till December 1st (is this something to do with wages?) if he had signed surely someone would have seen him at the game yesterday

Buddy, I would be amazed if no one comes in for Hall. Pure class and a cut above the majority of our team. Should be playing in a higher league. Fingers crossed he doesn't go in January.Originally posted by Scum-Triumphant View PostHall was outstanding in the second half. What a great signing he is.
