  • World Cup draw Fri 5th December

I've had a look at how the draw will work but, it looks mind boggling with so many permutations. Have a look at this and see what you think.

Pots, quadrants, confederation constraints, group position grids ... the World Cup draw is not going to be straightforward.

I love a draw and the World Cup group draw is the best. I'm even finishing work slightly early to watch it. It's an event for me, so I'm glad they're padding it out. Looking forward to hearing big Don say a few words. Bring it on, I'm all in 😁

Iran, Qatar and Curacao would be nice.

How much TV publicity will Ar'jany Martha get? Everyone loves an under dog in the World Cup and Curacao fit that bill.

If he plays and plays well, it may raise his profile and price tag more, a win win for all involved with Ar'Jany.

Just checked out his current value, not a guaranteed price but, they have him down as 750K. Imagine the World Cup showing, it could may well push him over the 1 Million tag. Personally I don't believe he's worth anywhere near that but football is a crazy game that generates stupid money at times.

What's more interesting than the draw is who will be the first recipient of the FIFA Peace Prize.

Gianni Infantino was elected (2016?) on a platform of getting rid of corruption. He has been in charge of WC's held in Russia and Qatar, with one to come in Saudi Arabia.

So what can we expect from a MAGA WC, given that Trump has done his best to demonise Canada and Mexico? One thing you can guarantee is that the Trump family will find ways to make sure that more dollars will flow into their coffers.

Apparently a parking ticket for the final will knock you back ?150 /$175.

        Football is being raped.

One thing that I'm not sure I agree with is the amount of teams participating. Obviously it's great for the little countries like Curacao and Scotland but 48 teams sounds excessive.

You've only got to look at the format for the group stage. 32 teams will qualify from the groups. So we play 3 group games and only 16 teams get eliminated.

On the other hand, it's an absolute feast of football which can only be a good thing I guess.

Croatia Ghana Panama even more watered down! Harry Kane will get 100 goals at least for England how it is now.

I don?t care who gets a made up peace prize from FIFA.. but by doing so they cannot say that players cannot support Palestine, Israel, Ukraine or rainbow laces because they are political movements because they have just done it themselves.

72 games to get 48 teams down to 32? Where is the jepordy.

The World Cup is the greatest competition in the world and FIFA are fecking it up.

Kieran Maguire breaks news of the latest 'innovation' from FIFA -

FIFA impose 3 minute ‘hydration breaks’ in each half of 2026 World Cup regardless of weather. If it looks like an ad break, smells like an ad break and features adverts it is of course a hydration break. First step towards a TV friendly 4 quarter sport? https://t.co/ogJxn9b53n
