I think he has 2 years left? We paid a million, according to some. So what, 2 million plus? He has clearly developed in the last 12 months and whilst he was not up to the Championship before, maybe is he now?Originally posted by Nardendee View PostIf they do this they clearly have no ambition.
I think he will leave. Charlton were interested before I believe from some press reports.

Quite a lot of us Millers fans have been saying for a number of years, that no one on the boardOriginally posted by Derbymiller View PostIf you see what players go for it is unreal, set at ?5m take ?4m with sell on clause, any less shows an executive with little or no football brains
have football knowledge of valuation & contracts of players.

Over optimistic? A player who scored 14 goals last season in a very average League 1side and you say he is not worth 3-4 Mill?Originally posted by BarnsleyWhites View PostI think figures of ?3-4m are wildly over optimistic and if an offer around the mooted ?1.2m purchase price came in, if the lad himself wanted to go I suspect it would be accepted.
I bet you would love him in your current team.
Its a shame Barry Fry doesnt work for us. Sam would be going for 5 Mill minimum if he was in charge.

I think 2 million is what we would get. As mentioned above, I think this will dictated by what the lad himself wants in that if he wants to go, then I think we will give it the nod. It would be a massive worry for me if he did as I dont think we would reinvest.Originally posted by Brin View PostOver optimistic? Are you on glue!!??Originally posted by BarnsleyWhites View PostI think figures of ?3-4m are wildly over optimistic and if an offer around the mooted ?1.2m purchase price came in, if the lad himself wanted to go I suspect it would be accepted.
We paid 1 million pounds for him. He has 2 years left on his contract. Exeter have a sell on clause on any sale we make. He is unrecognisable from the player we brought in 2 years ago. He's entering the prime (age 26) of his career.
And you think we'd sell him without making a significant profit?
I suspect it's not a case of what you THINK, rather what you would WANT.Last edited by Grumpy King of the West; 09-08-2025, 06:18 AM.
