  • MillersMad Match Thread...Millers v Huddersfield Town

A welcome break from the league tonight as we take on Huddersfield Town in our round of 16 game in the EFL Trophy.

Ordinarily I'd be suggesting that we try out some of the youngsters in tonight game, and maybe that is the thing to do. The other way of looking at it is to play our best 11 and use the game to get match sharp for Saturday. We haven't played in almost 2 weeks.

Personally I hope we put out a strong team tonight. Winning builds confidence and we definitely need that right now. Plus, it's a chance of progression in the competition.

    Enjoy the game everyone. UTM.

I'm going. Expecting nothing but, always keep an open mind.

Yes give the youngsters a run especially the likes of Josh Ayres and Dean Gardener. Them two up front doesn't affect our League position but, it will allow Hammy to have a good look at them. Of course it goes without saying, if Nombe is over his 'thigh strain' then get him out there and let him have a damn good run in readiness for Saturday.

Keep Martha out of the team on the bench to start, he needs to learn a lesson and get his head sorted as of late, he has been nowhere near of delivering his capabilities.

Cann deserves to start this one and give Dawson a rest.

Don't expect a lot of us there but for those who are travelling, have a safe journey there and back and let's hope it's a good result UTM!

I always find it quiet bizarre that since I've supported Rotherham since the late 70's that Ive been as far north as Carlisle and as far south as Plymouth but Ive yet to see Rotherham at Huddersfield. It's the only ground in Yorkshire apart from Westfield Lane (Frickley) that Ive not been to and I wont get the chance tonight as Im working.

Rotherham Utd's all time top scorers in the FLT
        Des Hazel 6
        Michael Smith 5
        Shaun Goater 5
        Shaun Goodwin 4
        Kieran Sadlier 4
        Nigel Jemson 4
        Jordan Hugill 4
        Tony Grealish 3
        Will Grigg 3
        Josh Benson 3
        Freddie Ladapo 3
        Tony Cunningham 3

Rotherham United's all time most appearances in the FLT [current team]
        Shaun Goodwin 22
        Shaun Goater 20
        Des Hazel 18
        Paul Hurst 18
        Kelham O'Hanlon 14
        Nigel Johnson 14

        [Jack Holmes 10]

Rotherham United's on this day record Pld 14, Won 2, Drawn 6, Lost 6
Former Rotherham players born on this day:
George Raynor 1907, John Nock 1909, Ernest Smith 1912, Julien Baudet 1979, Ian Ross 1986, Tom Thorpe 1993, Tom Lawrence 1994

We have not had a game for over 2 weeks, play a full side.

MH has already said he can't afford to do that.

MM, Why not? Nombe surely needs game time, so does Agbaire.

I would love us to win tonight this could bring some joy to our centenary, but being we don't have enough kids for the bench!! (Where is Duncan - Matt) And they are a team that can spend ?1m this window on a full back what chance do we have. We can't financially compete at L1 level anymore !!

Cann lets one squirm under him to concede in first minute but clear offside. Can't help his confidence

Ayers isn?t fit enough to play a full game and only just manages half a game.
