  • Will we ever see a 10,000+ home gate this season?

Looking through the attendance home game stats and I didn't realise we've never hit a 10k+ gate this season.

If I recall, correct me if I'm wrong but, didn't we sell close to 7k of S'T's this season? Throw in the floating home fans and you would expect it to average around 8.5k. With this in mind it still doesn't tally up with the likes of Bradford and Huddersfield having visited us?

The last 6 home games had an average of 8114. From these, the Huddersfield attendance was 9514 and that's about as good as it gets. The last two homes games were Wimbledon 7787 and Northampton 7228.

Will the new recruits help to increase our attendance and will those who have recently stayed away now return?

It appears Tony Stewart has dug deep again so isn't it now our turn to repay that faith by attending? There's been enough posted and mentioned of how weak we were prior to the transfer window but we're not now. By all means if some fans don't want to, you can't make them, it's their choice. Would just like to see a much bigger crowd now returning and some noise created to get the NYS rocking again like it use to.

NB. I've just realised who's in town this Saturday, table toppers Cardiff and they travel well in numbers so maybe this may well be the first 10k+ gate afterall.

Brin mate, compelling evidence of ST being well short of 7k. And factor in a one off day ticket of full adult W and E stands being a whacking 32 quid for this division football standard, not hard to see where the lower gates come from. The N stand I haven?t checked, but we can only rely on the lower ticket prices on day rate to swell numbers up. It?s always easier to get floaters in if playing well in a promotion race rather than a scrap for points.

North stand, 30 quid full adult one off ticket. Floating votes will limit games, no question. The club has increased prices and tried really hard to ensure a big reduction saving with ST, but even these are quite high compared to around covid time.

So, it will really impact the one offs. A day at a game for most is more than just the ticket.

If we carry on this undefeated run we could maybe push the 10,000 mark when Donny come, Mansfield will be a night match now.

Problems will really come if we - heaven forbid - go down. The prices would be unsustainable in my view, we know what the standard would be of Div 2.

All who qualify for concession prices of ages are the ones we can capitalise on. Time to release a one time off buy 3 for 2.

If it was in line for the same rate - or a little higher - of ST, then no one could complain and one way to encourage a crowd.

Would the club have the foresight?

Err probably no but you would have to look deep into that for it to be commercially viable for the club. Good shout though.

I'll give you that one but we've played xx games at home so far and all haven't been winter games

Brin, Huddersfield notably have a good lower price policy, their theory being, better to have more in than less on higher price.

Research needed, but pretty sure but gates have fallen away increasingly after the end of the 9 games run?.and that does also coincide with true winter. I will be the first to miss freezing, and with a ST to boot. Plenty of games covered by sky, which with a ST, they stay away warm.

It is very difficult to quantify. Good weather does help though, as does a good run.

It is a good talking point Brin, better than the endless bicker.

Like Bradford. How cheap are their tickets and their gates average 18k+ ? They also work on the theory that with all those fans in the ground, they make up lost ST revenue on food and beverages, plus team shirts etc. It's a big gamble to take but would it work at ours?

Well I?m a Leeds fan who has a soft spot for the Millers. I?m coming with 2 other mates to see how our Harry Gray is getting on. So, doing our bit for a crowd of 10k +
All of us concessions so tickets were dirt cheap.
Looking forward to seeing a Millers upset. Cardiff well supported so I?m guessing they?ll sell out the away end - is that 2500?
