  • Manager Gets The Sack, After Promotion, Even NowJoint Top of Northern Premier League

Hednesford Town - Joint Top of the Northern Premier League - Premier Division

Gained promotion in the play-offs to the N.P.L. Premier Division from the Northern P.L. - West
last season, with Widnes being the champions by 3 points.

The club have won 15 games - Drawn 9 - Lost 5 with 54 points this season
Level with Hebburn Town who they played tonight, drawing 1 - 1

Hednesford Town have sacked manager Gavin Hurren & his assistant Lee Vaughan, after a dip in form,
    last 11 games has brought 4 wins - 6 draws - 1 loss
But has said joint top of the N.P.L. Premier Division.
Last season Hurren & Vaughan were appointed in November 2024, when they gained promotion, having a 21 game unbeaten run.

But owner / chairman Craig Gwilt has opted to make a change, after a dip in form & performances, that have not met the level of investment made into the club.

What do owners / chairman want, a manager gains promotion, & now joint top of the league, but still gets the sack.

I suppose he sees 18 points from the last 33 is not good enough or promotion form irrespective if they are top of the league.

Sounds like he may have investeded heavily and wants a better return.
