If there was any thought to replacing MH, this presents a dilemma. Not just because that was a proper performance on many levels, but also the fact that we obviously need a replacement in the wings to take over quickly, and it's going to be awkward if they line that up and we stick another game like that in... may even be a point they have to sack a manager who's just bagged a couple of great results.

IMHO I don't think they have reached that point.

Top performance. Couldn't fault anyone in our ranks, and could see what it meant to the lads when they celebrated just in front of us for the goal. I'm sure I even caught sight of Gru smiling. Nothing is fixed, but to find fault with that outing is needless and comes from other issues people can't sit on.

On to Tuesday, hoping that gives the fans a reason to be a bit noisier, a bit more optimistic, and to turn up to watch when the club desperately needs the support. I'll eat my humble pie - I said time was up on MH, but yesterday put that on the shelf. UTM.

I don't think James and Nombe are human, wish I had a 10th of their energy .

James was immense. Didn't even look like he was struggling despite covering what must have been 12k.

I am sorry that some people are annoyed I won't join the MH fan club after a home victory, but I do not believe he has the ability to be a successful manager at this level. He is our manager and so when I go to games I will support him and the team, but this board is for us to share opinions and discuss matters about the club, it isn't an echo chamber. Yesterday was a lot better they deserve all the credit for that, but we are in a relegation battle and the next 13 performances need to have that same level of desire. I hope MH keeps us up because I love the club not MH. Scrapping survival in 18th to 20th position is not a successful season, for us. It isn't unfair to expect us to improve on 13th and start to see the squad be reshaping, and see that as success, we are a mile away from that.
As for the 3 at the back, it created increase pressure changed the shape of the team which led to more mistakes and was totally unnecessary as we had a natural replacement for Martha on the bench, two players that our manager signed in the window. Either cover or the man utd lad could have been a direct replacement, he gambled on a change and was very lucky to get away with it.
I do agree about Gore what a wonderful footballer, and Nombe and James effort was amazing, but Yearwood was the star for me, I hope he is given more opportunities to play that role and he keeps going.

I thought yesterday was a great advertisement for the third division. Two evenly matched teams going at it, end to end.
Only three magnificent saves prevented us going in well in front. As is normal, they rallied in the second half, might have had a late equaliser. Was the decision kama for last week's offside 'goal'?
Cann had a steady home debut, did what he had to do. Nice to see the crowd respond well to the team at the end.
I'm just taking each game at a time, and not agonising over the league table. What will be, will be.

Was counting minutes down from early in the 2nd half wanted that win. On the way to the game said this time next week I'm looking for 2 home wins & at least a pt at Huddersfield. Want league 1 football here next season. UM know idea who you are do you sit above me below or at the side of me?

No humble pie from me at the moment. It was a great win and I stood and clapped him and the players off. It’s not imo anything other than a great win. If we follow it up and improve over the coming games I’ll be more than happy to eat humble pie. But it’s 1 game I’ve witnessed home and away some tripe. Let’s see what happens in the next 5 games before any of us should be told to eat humble pie. I agree about the fans getting behind the team Tuesday, I thought they did that yesterday tbf.

Went yesterday and was pleasantly surprised at how we played I agree with Derby miller why did he change to 3 at the back when we were doing well? Bianchieri would have been a direct replacement for Martha (who for a change put a shift in) we just seemed to invite pressure although having said that Agbaire did well as well as the other 2 alongside, I could not see a weak link but I’m not getting too excited special mention to Yearwood who had a great game

This season has been very strange, I think even the most ardent Hamshaw critic can see he has brought in some good players, and the team is a rebuild job by a rookie manager.
Chuck in the ridiculous amount of injuries , and it's no wonder we are struggling .
But there have been signs that we have the basis for a decent team, yesterday was probably the best example of that so far.
For once it wasn't a 45 minute display,more like 75.
Regardless of yesterday's result,sacking him before the end of the season would be pointless unless you have someone lined up to take over the next day.
So let's hope the players stay fit,and the points keep coming.

I think that was what most of us would consider to be a proper Rotherham performance.
Everybody at it, everybody putting a shift in and battling right to the end.
We can't really ask for a lot more and have to hope we can get at least 5 more similar results to give us a fighting chance of staying up.
All the players deserve credit but special mentions have to go to Reece James (my man of the match), Drew Yearwood, Joe Rafferty, Sam Nombe and of course the cameo from Dan Gore.

At last we seemed to play as a team and for each other.Now we have some creativity in the side it's a lot better to watch,Watmore is pure class at this level and now we have Benson and Gore back there is a better service to the front two of Gray and Nombe.All contributed to the fully deserved victory and if we get no more injuries and the likes of Powell.Spense and Hall to come back I am feeling confident we can rise up this table.

I haven't posted for a while as i have too depressed by the results and performances, so here goes.
Changing the manager wouldn't help us at this stage of the season.
As previously stated we have a decent squad when all are fit and they are young enough to develop into a good one.
I always thought this season was a write off and let him start with a clean slate next season, I hoped it would be in league one, still maybe but if not hey ho.
Yesterday was more like the way we played when we went on the long undeafeated run.
The class of Benson and Whatmore add so much and Gore is just sublime, add the injuries to that side and we have a chance.
We should have been out of sight, enough chances, but had to endure tense times wathcing the clock tick over.
As others have said James was immense and a special shout out for Yearwood, he was on my surplus list but he was very good
yesterday more of that please Drew.
Keep that up, keep the faith and with luck and a fair wind we can stay up,

Hopefully Mansfield Town players have their minds on the 5th Round FA cup game against Ars*nal next Saturday,
when they play the Millers on Tuesday.
Mansfield Town manager Nigel Clough said, that he will have his players focused on Tuesday's game at the NYS.

Yesterday's game against Plymouth Argyle, Watmore & Benson were outstanding, good to see Gore come on to
play his part.
Harry Gray a gifted player, but he tried to beat to many opponents instead of passing the ball.
Why do we persist with walloping the ball upfield, when we don't have a big forward to lay the ball off.

Couldn’t agree more Eric, why did we persist in launching it downfield (to be fair Nombe did win a few ) their no 15 was massive and therefore shedding possession, their keeper was constantly rolling it out to the full backs to start moves going, it’s criminal especially now we have “footballers” who can look after the ball like Benson Gore and Watmore, also Powell when he’s fit, the chances came from the movement of our front lads and the creativity of our midfield, not from launching it down the field giving away possession, something must have been said to Cann in at half time because he was at least varying it a bit James and Rafferty are good enough to receive the ball and start attacks off, apart from anything else it gives the opposition something to think about if you can at least mix it up

I agree, I think that really paints a true reflection of it. And a lot has hinged on injuries. Realistically we may not be able to do that all the time, but there will be more chances, and goals like anything else the more frequency play happens.

We must get behind them.
