    We know why today happened

  • #2
Did anyone really expect a different result today?
Changing the manager was completely understandable but it's only like rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic.
We have to hope for seismic change at the club because we're in danger of going the same way as S c u n thorpe.

Lee Clark is on a hiding to nothing with the ragtag bunch of schoolboys, sicknotes, and losers (players and coaches) who have stunk out our club.
It's so dire that I seriously believe we need to dispose of every permanent player involved in today's match and the recent past.
They will go down in history as the worst bunch we've had in 100 years.
And with a total rebuild comes a massive risk. This time next year I fear we will be staring non league in the face

We all knew we werenÂ’t going to win today. We have a weak minded squad who have been poorly coached.
We played ok in patches but the players are just fragile and canÂ’t cope with pressure. I have no idea if this manager will be any good but we have 2 weeks now to try and get some confidence in the players. We really have recruited terribly this season. It will take time to get rid of the crap signings from the last 2 managers and get it right.
Just listened to what the commentators said. ItÂ’s appalling calling out the supporters just to protect their pal previous manager. Off out for a Jack DanielÂ’s.

Not seen any but from the Peterborough game we know Agbaire & Martha are surplus to start with. Sort it out before the Stevenage game & hopefully get some of our better players back from injury.

Sooner have Duncan in defence before Agbaire.

Think we may struggle to hold onto our league status 12 months from now?

Only Matt Taylor can keep us up now.

I really hope not but the club has been in decline for at least 3 years and is in free fall right now.
We have an absentee chairman who admitted he was getting bored before he brought Evans back and things have been getting steadily worse in recent months.
The COO has just given a disastrous interview which made it pretty clear that there is no leadership or coherent strategy at the club and then, to cap it all, we appoint a manager who hasn't worked for 4 years and expect him to save our season with 9 games to go.
Many of the players will be out of contract at the end of the season and several of those who remain simply aren't good enough even for League 2 so someone will be tasked with yet another huge rebuilding job.
It's very hard to take anything positive out of that little lot!
Surely we've got to hope that TS sells the club to someone with ambition and deep pockets but unfortunately people like that don't grow on trees.

Mellow, as always you deliver a level headed and honest post. As for your last sentence, I wonder how Phil Smith is viewing all of this?

Jesus, he is the one who spent most money and put us here. God forbid.

I think we are all shellshocked and jaded from a disastrous 3 years. There is not a positive except from we did not concede again in the second. How bad is that.

By the way, if Smith did have a strong link with MH, where does that leave him now?

You missed the irony Taylor is now manager of Exeter the team we must catch to stand a chance of staying up

Taylor being manager of Exeter gives us a glimmer of hope.

Observations from watching the brief highlights from yesterday their goals especially 1st 2 were preventable. Problem with playing Baptist in midfield he's our most reliable centre back unless we got Douglas back or Duncan proved good enough. Lee Clarke took Martha off at half time, not before time something Hamshaw wouldn't do!
