    Would you rather support;

    a. A side which had a great opportunity and expectation to win 4 major competitions, only to bottle it and fail to win any, or,

    b. A side which has been poor all season and will predictably be relegated to League 2?

    Neither option is very attractive but is one less painful than the other?

    To be fair, you cannot choose which of those scenarios your team could be facing at the start of the season. The only thing I would say is that the disappointment and heartache last longer with the latter option than with the first. At least if your team is in with a chance of winning something, you have had great enjoyment along the way, and the heartache is more sudden and shorter lasting.

      Sometimes having the opportunity to achieve something only to end up with nowt can have devastating long term implications .

      The Dean Windass goal with 15 seconds to go at Wembley in the play off final in 2023 is something we haven't recovered from in my opinion .

      The season before when we finished rock bottom of the championship and one of our worst ever season's wasn't exactly pleasant but we knew we were going down pretty much from October onwards and you adjusted accordingly .

      Seeing things slip through your hands in my opinion is the worst of the two evils .
